My point was that Cheatolini thinks everyone can be bought or intimidated. He can’t intimidate her anymore to get her to shut up, so I wouldn’t put it past him to try to find her “price point”. It’s simply beyond him to think it won’t work if he makes the amount big enough.
After all, he’s got all those millions in campaign money just sitting around, going to waste.
When I first heard about them going after the hush money story I was confused.
Then I heard the SDNY was not going to prosecute anyone else on the matter (besides Cohen). They never said why, though. So I heard echos of Billy Barr and Geoffrey Berman and I was pissed.
Then I thought about how boring and dry watching the other lawsuits progress (Emoluments, McGahn, Taxes, etc.) is going to be.
Then I thought about this story as a wonderful filler piece linking trump back to being an unindicted co-conspirator in what could be a very splashy way.

The good news is that when Congress starts impeachment over the hush money payments, they will have good reason to look at (a) the bank records to show where the money came from and (b) the tax returns to show how it was reported. And I don’t see anyway that the Courts would find this beyond the scope of the matter. Once those cans of worms are opened, I would expect that more will come out.
On a related topic, I would expect both the DC Circuit and the Second Circuit to issue their decisions in the next week or two on the outstanding subpoenas for the accountant records and bank records, but of course Trump will take this to the Supremes, who will likely sit on it.
Finally, the bad news - do we really need a second impeachment based on sex!
