Ok, I am going to designate Qevin as a formal unit of time that measures how long a House Speaker remains in their position. That is about 10 months for those measuring typically.
So, how many Qevins will Jordan or Scalise last, if they become House Speaker? I think it will be less than 1 Qevin, of course the mileage may vary.
Now the ever delightful Heather Cox Richardson pointed out this morning that Hakeem Jefferies is closer in total votes to the Speakership than either Scalise or Jordan. While a wild shot, I would bet his would last longer than 1 Qevin.

Don’t over look your daughter. She might not have been injured phyiscally but I bet she she has feelings that need to be worked through.
As to Scalise it is just the same old, same old and of course Isreal can’t get better until Netanyahu is out of Isreali politics.

Please that the time to care for yourself and your family! Between the devastation in Israel and your own personal trauma, it really would seem to be too much to bear. I myself, can hardly focus on my work with what’s happening in Israel. Neither Scalise nor Jordan will vote for aid for Ukraine, and both are likely to shut down the government.

Grief and trauma do live through us. It may be in our heads, but it’s how our heads cope with the unfathomable. Look after your son (if you are) and take care of yourself. It sounds like your co-workers can flesh out anything that needs extra meat, and the community here seem to be able to entertain ourselves.

Hardly ever comment here, but an avid follower. David K, please take care of yourself and family. Our small but mighty community will be fine while you devote more energy into your and yours healing. We appreciate all the efforts you make to keep us both informed and entertained. We can survive with a bit less of both as you recover. Trauma is not fun. I empathized with you after a motorcycle accident in 2014 that left me in the hospital for four days with six broken ribs, three broken bones in a leg/foot and more bruises and road rash than I care to recall. Of course Donnie will blame his lawyers. The question now is looking at who, and the caliber a lawyer who will agree to defend Donnie from all these charges.
And then there’s the money aspect. He was helping some folks to pay for legal representation, well that’s gonna stop any day now.
