My apologies. I’ll try to avoid those type.
While I agree with Krugman’s sentiment, I think he may be focusing a bit too narrowly. Whether you’re Jewish or not, if you think the Holocaust was a bad thing, the use of “cosmopolitan” should scare you.
I’m countin’ on it – at least in the GOP primary – because he’d probably lose the General Election, and even if he didn’t, I’m all for the GOP never washing this stain off its shirt.
The $800K Turtle got from Len Blavatnik’s PAC in’16 certainly went a long way.
Absolutely. I think Krugman feels that way too. Probably was just using a specific historical reference.
Yes, without Trump, King would be just another rep signaling his ignorant white district’s racist zenophoebia with his periodic racist statements, mining the same vein of transgressive shit as Goehmert, Cruz, Cotton, Gaetz and all the rest of the idiots. King would be just as at home anywhere in rural Missouri, Georgia, Alabama, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Mississippi, Kentucky, Illinois, on and on…
He perfectly represents his constituents, just as Trump represents his base.
A sad fact, but this is Trump’s Amerika 2019
The recent comments by @SteveKingIA published in the @nytimes are a bridge too far.
He was OK with the ferry boat and air link and swimming across, but the bridge was just too much.
So we can conduct and experiment -
is it easier to run for congress as a documented / self acknowledged - White Supremacist racist xenophobe.
or is it easier to run for President?
Tried sending it back. Returned to sender with a note: “She is your destiny. Deal with it…”
Honest to god, I find the parallels between Trump and Mao to be overwhelming. I had to study Mao a lot in college, and it blew me away to see him continue to amass power when it appeared he was a blathering idiot filled to the gills with absurd kool-aid. And yet he achieved absolute power over the most populous country on Earth, and is directly responsible for millions of unnecessary deaths, as well as ordering hundreds of unjust executions.
I first learned about Donald Trump when I was a kid watching Back to the Future 2. Even then, I could tell he was a bad guy. Twenty years later, he has failed at everything in life except for (1) absolute suppression of any private information about himself, and (2) escaping the consequences of being an aggressively prolific shitheel. And now he’s the most powerful man on Earth.
To paraphrase Woody Allen: IA-4 is at a crossroads. An election choice needs to be made between a stone racist and a whack-job evangelical. Let us hope they have the wisdom to choose wisely.
NO.
Sacre’ bleu!
