Steve King Challenger Out-Raising Him, Nabs Key Endorsement

Rep. Steve King (R-IA) seems to finally be reaping what he sowed, as he lost a prominent endorsement Thursday to a challenger who’s already been significantly out-fundraising him.

Losing the love of a name brand TV preacher is never helpful for King’s ilk. Off the prayer list is not where the incumbent wants to be going into a primary.

It’s only recent comments by King that are a bridge too far?!

As the Register points out King has historically under-earned compared to his challengers and still managed to come out on top.

Translation: Never underestimate racist Iowa voters.

Is it wrong that I"m laughing at King over this?

The good people of the 4th District of Iowa deserve better leadership that is representative of who they are.

Given that they’ve been electing him to state or national office now for more than 20 years, I’d say King is exactly representative of who they are.

That is either a silly use of the word “earned,” or a revealing one.

King needs to reboot his campaign with 14 word slogans like Josh Hawley’s first sentence here:

Gee, Sen. Hawley. I am so old I remember when we were the beacon of freedom to the rest of the world, the “shining city” that everyone else wanted to be.

Guess my father fighting for his country in WWII was all for naught.

If racist remarks were the standard, every week would be a bad week for Steve King’s campaign. The only thing Feenstra may have going for him in this district is Dutch ancestry.

You know, if after 9/11 a Democrat had put out a statement like Josh Hawley did, they would be politically crucified, not only by the Republican Party, but by the entire American media.

Why does he need to raise anything? After 20 years in his district, it’s not like anyone needs an introduction or an ad about him.

Someone remind me again about those words on the Statue of Liberty…something, something “your poor”, something something, yearning to be free…”?

Oh, wait, of course, it was a damned gift from France

My bad.

Beating a Democrat who out-fundraised him is not predictive of beating a GOP clone who is out-fundraising him.

Surprised we haven’t packed it back up and mailed it off to those cheese-eating surrender-monkeys!
