Fetterman conveniently forgets that his wife was once an undocumented immigrant and during his run for US Senate she was harassed and called names in grocery store parking lots.

The ultimate bill for this cruelty will be in the millions or tens of millions of dollars, to say nothing of the emotional and physical trauma inflicted on families and communities torn asunder. Actual dangerous criminals and the employers who enrich themselves off of exploiting undocumented workers will carry on as usual. Honest, hard-working people who placed their trust in the system will get screwed. And a few loathsome cretins will enjoy temporary, unsatisfying hate-boners. If I believed in an afterlife, I’d be confident Satan was already excavating some new circles in hell.

Regarding the co-worker who was detained - CNN had been live, on scene, reporting all day. Then the journalist, his crew and their security personnel were also briefly detained. They were forced out of the area and told if they returned, they would be arrested for trespassing.
He noted that typically, officers usually recognize that ‘the press is there doing a job.’
Carroll then returned to reporting on those who were being arrested for not dispersing from the area.
Perhaps Jason Carroll failed the terrorist color chart test.

Whatever possible escalation and violence was in LA’s future is unknowable. Maybe the increase in various security measures has helped. But describing the last few days as violence drenched anarchy is just plain dishonest and hyperbolic.
Has a single police officer, NatGuardsman or DoD employee been injured? Any injuries at all? Have any buildings been torched or seriously damaged? And city, state or Federal buildings been invaded and taken over? Any hostages? Any threats from anyone to make things worse if certain demands weren’t meant? Just WTF is it that’s occurred that constitutes anarchy? I can’t even detect we’ve experienced a decent riot. Sheesh.

I’ve seen this phrase “constitutional lawyer” tossed off like salad innumerable times. Just what the fuck does this even mean? Aren’t all lawyers licensed in America “Constitutional Lawyers!?” I mean, they fucking well ought to be!
