The whole crew has been stupid enough to put pretty much everything in writing – even the lawyers like Eastman, etc, who should have known better. I’m betting the Committee has receipts and are not just passing along hearsay.

You might be right… but, were I a prosecutor, I might like my odds putting Ms. Hutchison up against almost anyone. You could claim she was lying, but, she rather lacks motive, while Mr. Passantino has plenty of motive to misrepresent material fact.
Even if there is corroborating evidence that sounds like hearsay — there are exceptions to the hearsay rules. This information would not be published if it could not be substantiated.
