The State Department will reportedly announce its most severe international travel advisory yet as the coronavirus pandemic spreads around the globe, according to Politico and NBC News.
So, slam the barn door after the horses have escaped but invite a bunch to come back to the burning building. Got it. Makes perfect sense for this administration.
Meanwhile, on alternate Earth MJ719, in a fairly unremarkable dimension of the Multiverse, President Hillary Clinton has just signed legislation increasing the CDC budget, expanding the Pandemic Response Team, and funding free wellness checks for all Americans, following three straight years of US medical-supply factory growth.
“Secretary of State Mike Pompeo gave the green light for the advisory, according to Politico. The move would come less than a week after the department raised its global travel advisory to level 3, which instructed Americans to reconsider traveling abroad.”

Be interested in people’s predictions - here are a few of mine
Someone is going to get seriously injured or killed over a grocery item in the next week
Domestic violence will start to skyrocket
Large groups of anti-vaxxers will start having COVID parties in order to gain immunity quickly
Looting will begin in a few weeks - armed holdups of pharmacies down the road

Traveling by choice is such a colossally bad idea.
It’s mostly too late for us in the US, but I actually support the restrictions. Some parts of the world, e.g., Latin America, haven’t yet been broadly affected, and probably the best thing we can do is to not travel outbound and infect them.
To be honest…anyone still planning in traveling at this point ought to be locked up…but sure. Let’s close the door now that this shit has already spread everywhere.
This is good, I think, because there are some young people out there who think they’re invincible.
That being said, where are the tests??? Without that, we don’t know the extent of the problem, the locales currently affected, and the areas at future risk. It’s impossible to put together a strategy without data, and knowing who has it is fundamentally important.
Also, who’s thinking about ICU beds, PPE, and ventilators? Anyone on this?
When you only have a hammer, every problem looks like a nail.
Has the State Dept. thought through how more travel bans will impact the transport of critical personal or supplies, like COVID test kits from Italy, into the U.S.?
