Love that they’re felony charges.

IANAL, but could that expedite getting them disbarred if convicted? Does a Gubner pardon affect disbarment?

Conspiring minds want to know…

The attorney for the McCloskeys, Joel Schwartz, told the AP in a statement that he finds the charges “disheartening as I unequivocally believe no crime was committed.”

I was sort of thinking that to get around the whole “a man who defends himself in court has a fool for a client” thing, he would represent her and she would represent him. Seemed on par with their antics that got them into this mess. Little disappointed to see that they actually got themselves representation.

Love it. These guys are lawyers. Pointing guns at peaceful protestors shows they do not have the character to be lawyers.

This was felony assault, and it they were black or Hispanic or Asian, they would have been charged on day one.

But I will take delayed charges, the da (I think they are circuit prosecutors on Missouri) obviously knew they needed to nail down all of the details.

And cue the Guv of Missouri interfering in this matter as well as Trump and the DOJ. Again the GOP shows us they care about Americans kneeling at an anthem than Americans who point their guns as their fellow Americans who are non-threatening and also not armed.

She probably thought they were too small time to grift off adequately.

Will the Republican “Law and Order” Governor pardon these fools?

Of course he will!

imagine if they were black and a Charlottesville type of Americans paraded in front of there house peacefully headed down the street to the house they really wanted to protest at and they pointed guns at them thinking there life was in danger.
2 dead, house ransacked, they were criminals, they shot first.
It was self defense all the way.
case closed.
reality:
good news for the moment.
Pardons on the way.

Put them in the same prison cell with Michael Flynn! Lock them up! Together!

I just try to imagine what would happen if a Black couple pointed weapons at a group of white people.

THIS IS EXCELLENT NEWS!!

Now give them a harsh sentence making license plates and fine them all that they’re worth.

Even if they are pardoned by the whackadoodle governor, they will still have a review by the state bar association. Most bar associations don’t like having members that are convicted felons.

In some jurisdictions, a lawyer who is convicted of a felony loses their law license; a pardon may not fix that either. Someone will have to look up the specifics for Missouri to figure out what would happen if they are convicted.

This is absolutely right, they menaced the crowd by pointing weapons at them. Saw what you will about the poser militia types (and, oh, I could say a lot…), for the most part they keep their weapons under control, pointed at the ground…they menace just by standing there with the weapon, and are very careful not to point at people. These people though, they obviously had no training so they pointed their weapons directly at people while yelling about it…the charges are well deserved, especially since fingers were on triggers at certain points. If anyone has a high resolution image that shows a safety was off they are in even more trouble.

It’s way past time for white people like this to be held accountable for their bad behavior, it’s good to see a DA that filed charges instead of just letting it slide. We need more of this.

Great point, Maximus. Gov. Parson’s pardon would prevent a fine and jail time, but he has no impact on the State Bar. I would not be surprised to see them dis-barred.

Better than the fine, IMHO. They will have to move to Alabama or some other friendlier local to continue their ambulance chasing.

But they do have the character to be personal injury lawyers.

“It is illegal to wave weapons in a threatening manner — that is unlawful in the city of St. Louis,” Gardner told the AP.

The district attorney is right on. When I was a youth I took the firearms safety course at summer camp. This was a decade before the 1978 NRA decent into crazy town. This is the first thing that they teach you. Do not point the firearm at a person, animal or object. How difficult is it for them to understand.
