St. Louis Couple Indicted For Waving Guns At Protesters | Talking Points Memo

Yup, and the best part is that the (not elected, prior governor resigned) Gov. of MO Mike Parson is up for reelection this year. Polling shows he has a narrow lead in the polls, and this being a high profile story is NOT a good one, even in MO. These ass-clowns may be Trumpie, but MO has suburbs around St. Louis, Kansas City, and Columbia where this type of white grievance does not sell.

Yeah, but it yet again just writes itself just how much this incident functions as a microcosmic metaphor for what the entire Trump KKKult thinks about the country (gated neighborhood) and the brown folks storming its borders (gates) and how badly they desperately want to react by running to their guns to protect what they view as theirs from those they view as invaders.

I have a feeling that if/when Trump loses, these people (along with Rittenhouse et al) will suddenly find themselves unable to get return calls from the RNC and FOX or any of the batshit news media. They don’t know they are mere props with a usefulness expiration date of 11/3.

Tampering with evidence charge might have something to do with the whereabouts of Mrs. McClosky’s gun when police asked for it. I (dimly) remember one of their lawyers saying he had her gun “for protection” or some such. Anyone else remember that item in the news?

Time for prison, I hope

I mean, what’s the use of having big scary- looking guns if you can’t use them to intimidate people of color who threaten to disturb the carefully-constructed bubble of your gated community?

"We’re charged with felonies that could cost us four years of our lives and our law licenses.”

Probably should have thought about that before you went full tilt “Law & Order.”

Yeah, McCloskey, because you were the assholes with guns drawn and fingers in the triggers. Hope you’re convicted and get the max. Bet you’ll make lots of friends inside.

They’ve been out signing autographs and campaigning for Trump.

They MIGHT beat the brandishing of weapons charge, but the tampering with evidence charge will be much harder to beat, since the DA probably has pretty solid case from the St. Louis Police investigators. That one may not be an issue for most folks but it definitely cause these two ambulance chasers to be dis-barred.

I say good for them - flipping hamburgers is a more honorable avocation than ambulance chasing, if somewhat less lucrative.

Well if they were good lawyers who valued their licenses then they shouldn’t have risked committing felonies. Something about ignorance of the law is no excuse, unless you’re Donald J. Trump Jr.

I seem to remember that Watkins was the person that got the guns and turned them in. That seemed kind of hinky to me.

I guess the McCloskeys don’t go to church, or aren’t good Presbyterians:
And forgive us our trespasses,

as we forgive them that trespass against us;

Yeah, “having dinner outdoors”. When dinner is a pitcher of martinis, what could possibly go wrong when the guns come out?

Federal charges after Jan. 20th would be appropriate in my view. Trump laid down the rules after all.

Hopefully, kissing all the Trumper’s they meet.

The Con Man will give them the Medal (and THE Hat!) only after they contribute hugely to his failing campaign.

If you can’t do the time, don’t commit the crime. DUH.

ETTD. Of course, the things are already rotten when he touched them.

Since “law and order” is a racist dog whistle, it is entirely appropriate that they were speakers at the racist party’s convention.
