They’re utterly terrified by the harm he could do the party. The thing is, nothing they do will ever be enough – short of acting like he’s still president forever. Eventually, there has to be a falling out. And he’ll split the party, exactly the way they fear he will.

But no new president has ever had to fear that his predecessor might expose the nation’s secrets as President-elect Joe Biden must with Trump, current and former officials said. Not only does Trump have a history of disclosures, he checks the boxes of a classic counterintelligence risk: He is deeply in debt and angry at the U.S. government, particularly what he describes as the “deep state” conspiracy that he believes tried to stop him from winning the White House in 2016 and what he falsely claims is an illegal effort to rob him of reelection.

You know, best scenario for Putin now (aside from outright civil war, I guess) is for the GOP to hold the Senate in a tightly contested election.
Which leads me to wonder exactly what the Biden transition will be seeing when they finally get access to the national security agencies.

This is why NO republicans are to be trusted to ‘do the right thing’, it’s no longer in their nature if its a political liability for them to do so. It’s ‘winning’ over all principles since Post Modern Conservatism took over traditional conservatism.
And I think this refusal to concede movement is only going to grow. Our news media is already starting to ‘false balance’ the issue and give a platform of whole stories and screen time to disingenuous political actors to spread and normalize these election conspiracies, and even the idea of refusing to submit to democracy. The Washington Post looked like an add to join the ‘growing movement’ to not accept the election results today for example.
