Spain Set To Extend Coronavirus Lockdown | Talking Points Memo

MADRID (AP) — Spain’s left-wing coalition government appears to have averted throwing the country into a political crisis on top of the enormous challenge it already faces from a devastating coronavirus outbreak that has claimed more than 25,000 lives and severely damaged its economy.

This is how it should work. The COUNTRY makes the decision on lockdowns, not leaving it to every province or state.

Our federal government abdicated its responsibilities to its people.

This is what the USA can expect in the coming weeks. Tragic and sad largely because it could have been avoided.

Just found out my own fate. Pennsylvania has three phases established now: red, yellow, and green. A number of the more rural counties will enter the yellow phase after the 8th, which means some pretty minimal lifting of certain restrictions. You can’t get a haircut and return to something like normal until you’re in the green phase, and that’s not projected for anyone yet. The overall trend line for new infections is down, but there are still plenty of people dying. :pensive:

Would you be saying that if you lived in Sweden? (glad I have a blue guv, although I’m surprised that PA hasn’t matched the craziness of other battleground states like WI and MI. There’s still time for us to catch up.)

Uh oh…they must be ‘Trump Haters’ because you KNOW Donnie will make this all about him…

In Sweden even more than here. I don’t get your question.
