South Dakota AG Faces Potential Impeachment After Dodging Felony Charges In Fatal Crash

“I appreciate, more than ever, that the presumption of innocence placed within our legal system continues to work,” he said in a statement.

He fucking ran over a guy and killed him and drove away and admitted it. It’s a presumption of Republicanism that he appreciates.

I’m glad to know he isn’t going to be rewarded for killing somebody.

The presumption of innocence does not mean you cannot or should not be charged, but I’m sure he appreciates more than ever the deference that is paid to political office holders.

That’s a bit harsh. It’s not like he did anything as awful as having dinner at The French Laundry.

Like many states, the top state AG position is elected, not appointed, so he can’t be fired.

Or his kids and then his wife

You may have some misplaced faith in the ability of republicans to be embarrassed, given the events of the last five years.

This schmuck hasn’t brought many millions of new voters to the polls. If Donald Trump hadn’t done that in 2020, they’d be running away from him as fast as they possibly can. And they may still end up doing just that if his superfans don’t still show up to vote in 2022 and 2024.

Obvious deep-state false flag operation.

When even the SD GQP thinks you’ve gone to far, it’s time to resign and go sit in the corner.

he did call the cops right away, and frankly, that’s were the story gets weird.

I really doubt an impeachment inquiry would do any investigation. They’ll just rehash the three charges the courts gave them. Though the many prior speeding tickets will likely be mentioned, and maybe they can work in a suggestion that some of those tickets were likely trimmed down from the actual offense.

The civil suit, I expect will invest some money in basic gumshoe work around the party he attended.

be interesting to know more about the forensic evidence. Hitting a human at hwy speed leaves telltale damage to a car…I assume he went back to get control of the story,…because he knew that body would be found.

He called a senior ranking cop buddy and not 911. Together they went back hours after the fact which is highly suspect.

If you’ve ever seen someone try to name drop to get out of something, they always reach for the senior cop friend.

My bad. Called his cop friend and then, as I recall, made his escape in his cop friend’s squad car. I’m sure that’s a common scenario…

I thought I’d hit a deer

I didn’t realize I’d hit anything

I called 911 right after the crash

I stopped the car, got out and looked around but didn’t see anything so I went home and went to bed

I went out there the next morning and realized I’d killed someone but somehow didn’t think I needed to report that

Think about the career people who have been working for the state attorney general’s office all this time.

OK, that’s pretty damn funny …

I just know this is goddamn Obama’s fault …
