The lawyer for U.S. Ambassador to the EU Gordon Sondland shot down President Donald Trump’s baseless conspiracy theory that Democrats are altering the transcripts of impeachment inquiry witnesses’ testimonies.
Msg to Sondland:
The Co$t of loyalty just went up.
You would think that, after as many lawsuits and bankruptcies as he’s been involved in, Donnie would understand the nature of deposition and court transcripts.
In a real transcript, unlike that summary he keeps incorrectly calling a “transcript,” the court reporter transcribes everything and then sends out identical copies to both sides. The court reporter has the original, both sides have the opportunity to correct any errors.
And, Donnie, try to get it through your muddled brain, if the transcripts had been altered, the Republicans would make sure everyone knew about it.
Not to be crude, but Sondland’s head looks like a male organ that sprouted a face, a couple of ears, and a couple of chins.
This is looking to be an excellent week for Democrats. The GOP is eating their own, Trump is yelling at clouds and Adam Schiff has not even lifted the gavel. Sweet.

Well, I’m certainly glad to have that cleared up. But seriously folks, we’re seeing Trump taking fire from all sides, getting forced to back up a little further all the time, and a big factor in that is that his post-truth schtick was never going to work when it ran up against the legal world where testimony is sworn and fallacious arguments get killed as soon as they appear, like rats at the dump. Trump’s crap may work on gullible morons in the court of public opinion, but in the court of actual court, in the court of Congressional investigation, it has the distinct disadvantage of being obviously and provably false in a forum where that matters.
Well, duh. There were two House Committees in the room, both sides of the aisle. Maybe he’s confused because he thinks a transcript is something you create out of whole cloth like the summary he released and keeps calling a transcript?
So having these same fact witnesses testify in open court will clear everything up. Can’t wait.

Baseless claims are all in an effort to de-legitimize the process. The minions eat it up because Trump is the best thing to happen to them since they were born. They are the audience those claims are directed to. The lawyers can shoot them down, but every time Trump or one of loudspeakers says something like ‘Democrats are altering the transcripts of impeachment inquiry witnesses’ testimonies,’ there is one more minion that becomes all the more convinced.
Kind of like the reverse of when a bell rings, an angel gets its wings.
Easy way to clear up whether transcript is valid…get the original off that super secret server. If as Donnie claims, it is a perfect call AND it is a true transcript of what happened, then WHY is he fighting so hard to keep it so secret? We all know that.
This is where Trump having only himself in “charge” is a disaster. Trump can’t keep a story line, and so the lies are just tossed around like pebbles on a beach. None of them make any sense, and not only do reasonable people think Trump is acting crazier and crazier, but it prevents Republicans/FOX News from going with one lie and sticking with it, repeating it over and over like Joseph Gobbels taught them to.
Trump will positively go bat shit crazy this week, with wall to wall coverage of the hearings on Wednesday and Friday. It is gonna be HUGE!!!
Meanwhile, judge just said that Trump can’t sue NY in DC Court to prevent release of his taxes (if Neal ever asks for them). These kinds of tweets are only for his base, they are marching orders to tell everyone to disbelieve whatever they may read or hear that disagrees with what he is telling them. It’s straight out of the 1984 playbook, the same thing that propagandists have always used, and it will work on that large part of the nation because the right wing media will continue to amplify his voice. And, we will get more of this, and it will start to get more desperate, and may eventually lead to calls to “defend” Trump, which will be taken as calls to violence by his base that is already amped up to “take our country back!!!” It will be dangerous once we get to that point, and we will have to because the process is going to lead us there as it follows the facts.
Of course Trump lied about alteration of the transcript. He lies about everything.
