EU Ambssador Gordon Sondland was widely expected to be a bumbling mess at his testimony before the House on Wednesday.

Perhaps not a mistake.

Welp, he was enough of a Bumbing Mess to make possible a round of applause for Adam Schiff at the end of today’s session.

Gordy says that he never connected Burisma to the Bidens. I wish someone had asked him if he had any idea, then, what the nature of Burisma corruption was, or why it was in the US interest to investigate Burisma. An A-/ B+ guy like Sondland should have been curious about that, I would think.

Or why it was in the US interest to investigate Burisma alone, of all the corrupt firms in Ukraine.

Moscow Mitch should be working hard to get Trump to resign and save his Senators from having to take a vote. The circular firing squad is working overtime.

One of the many questions that should be asked whenever Trump’s supposed aversion to corruption is mentioned. Along with: Did he (or can you) name any other board-members of Burisma? If the goal was to attack corruption, why is it that the deliverable was the announcement of an investigation rather than an investigation itself?

Is Pam Bondi the one Trump, through a Trump “charity”, bribed for pulling out of the lawsuits against Trump University for being a fraud?

why? voting to acquit will get them reelected. Vote only hurts purple and blue state republicans.

Yes, all this is devastating. At this point Trump should resign after the Party Elders tell him the jig is up. But we know they won’t. I saw a clip of Gym Jordan interrogating Sondland as if Gym was a motormouth doubletalker. It was gibberish, something like this.

They are going to go completely fact free, screaming argle-bargle ala Gym or else go Graham, saying that they don’t even have to read or listen to the evidence because “it’s all a bunch of BS.”

No matter how damning the evidence is, the GOP will just ignore it. Facts don’t matter to these people. The only thing that does matter to them is maintaining their power.

Or maybe she is trying to muddy the waters. Sooner or later people are going to start asking, what the fuck was the ambassador to the EU doing “negotiating” with Ukraine?

Yes, saying he’s the embassador to the Ukraine repeatedly in an interview might help Trump on some wavering-support margin (who knows?).

But it’s weird that Sondland is involved except that he was a dope and willing player in a game he thought was cool, and whose downside risk he didn’t fear.

Florida AG at the time. “Bribed” is too strong a word. Let us say instead there was an astonishing confluence of events.

Nah, it was a bribe.

Wait, did you just use ‘Moscow Mitch’ and ‘work’ in the same sentence? Bad form, rollinnolan. :face_with_monocle:
