So. Should we believe the man who took copious contemporary notes, or should we believe the man who can’t recall?

"Sondland also told House investigators earlier this month, according to the Post, that he had no way of knowing whether Trump was being truthful’

Because it’s perfectly OK with the smooth running of this country and to the benefit of its citizens that all political appointees know that the president is a frequent liar and cannot trust him.

Well of course he disputes the key claims. He’s a liar, and he should be facing perjury charges.

Sondland does realize that he wasn’t have conversations with himself, doesn’t he? That there are other people who can help him with his memory?

Don’t think I don’t recall is gonna work for ya, Gordy.

BTW, here is a list of his hotels if you’re feeling boycott-y today. Spread the word!

Let’s put him under oath (again?) and see what he comes up with.

“I don’t recall…” is the claim of a man trying to dodge perjury charges…

“Sondland does not recall any conversation in Warsaw concerning the aid cutoff, although he understood that the Ukrainians were, by then, certainly aware of the cutoff and raised the issue directly with Pence,”

Take it away, Peter…

(how about that Chapman Stick?)

I have a new nickname for Sondy:

“China Syndrome”

At the rate he’s diggin’, he’ll get there about 2:30 (Pacific Time) tomorrow afternoon.

If Sondland truly “doesn’t recall,” then he is hardly in position to dispute Taylor’s testimony. It seems like the person discussing events from memory is far more credible than the one expressly claiming that he has memory gaps.

Initially, before it turned into a joke, “I do not recall” was a staple of Nixon’s Watergate defenders.

It turned into a joke when on of Nixon’s aids in the Senate Watergate hearings answered several unrelated and mostly in a row questions with “I don’t recall”. Kind of like how every Trumpian can’t recall meeting with Russians.

Edit: looks like the main headline has been improved.

Well, I can see why the Money Thumb disputes it. I mean if people believe a meticulous note-taking veteran and expert on The Ukraine who’s served in government for more than half a century over a political appointee with no diplomatic experience whatsover who only got the job cause he donated a million large to Cheetoh Jesus’s pitiful inaguration, why that could mean:

The headline is misleading. (Shocker.)

Sondland (or rather, his lawyer speaking for him) says he does not recall some things that Taylor says happened; and at the same time he is disputing other things that Taylor said.

Recall is a matter of convenience.

Yeah, but the Reagan admin made it a staple of scoundrels. I can’t recall jumped the shark with Alberto Gonzales.

Sadly, with Reagan it may well have been true that he didn’t remember.
