Some States Refuse Trumpian COVID Vaccine | Talking Points Memo

Officials from at least three states have suggested that they would refuse to distribute a COVID-19 vaccine if they believe it has not received adequate vetting by the federal government, or that it had been approved for political reasons.

Itā€™s a great relief to me that my state is willing to protect me from Trumpā€™s antics. I want a vaccine. I donā€™t want a repeat of, for instance, the thalidomide tragedy.

Of course they wonā€™t
Loser anarchist states.
Trump doesnā€™t want to give them anything anyway.

Man, that deep state must be exhausted, itā€™s everywhere.

Why do you make it so easy for them to make you look bad, Donnie?

The Swine flu vaccine was rushed during Fordā€™s term. A lot of people were infected with Polio due to a too-early release of a polio vaccine. Trump is too greatly motivated by self-preservation and NOT the preservation of others.

Iā€™ll wait until at the very least Fauci says the vaccine is good.

Besides, people are saying that the whole SARS-CoV-2 virus is going to miraculously disappear. / s

I am not getting near any vaccine until the Dems have had control of the executive branch for at least three months, assuming they have one to release.

Bravo to the leaders of California, New York, and Washington. For the good of all Americans, let us hope that each of the other states follow suit. It is abundantly clear that our Federal health agencies, and the people who administer them are not to be trusted, particularly with our very lives.

Iā€™m right behind you, Mr Mostly Beloved President. After you and the other Trumps have publicly received their shots, Iā€™ll get in line.

What makes you think that youā€™ll get the same inoculation that they do?

The idea that the FDA is going to roll over on this is astonishing ā€¦ and would be indicative of massive corruption of the fundamental ethical integrity of the process.

Even if a ā€œvaccineā€ is available right before the election, you canā€™t force people to take it, can you?

Medical personnel get the first opportunity to take it, right? Somehow, I canā€™t see them jumping at the chance to take the Trump vaccine.

As with the unexpected Neurology problems with swine fluā€¦ several college football players who have recovered from Covid seem to have heart inflammationā€¦ how long might this have simmered, and are the new vaccines being tested through at least a similar time span?
Immunity development after inoculations for my yearly flu shots is said to be about six weeksā€¦

In Washington we have a lot of anti-vaxxers - A rushed vaccine would be catastrophic for public health hoping to contain other diseases by use of vaccines. Gerald Ford had himself injected with the rushed swine flu vaccine that left 90 people paralyzed. He was lucky. Lets see Trump get that vaccine - actually get it, not some show with saline injection.

One word for you: Hydroxychloriquine.

You might want to give it a little time after they do, in case any diseases incubate.

Would someone please explain how ā€œoverwhelm[ing] the airwaves with vaccine-related messaging by early Novemberā€ helps with actually having a vaccine thatā€™s both safe and effective.
