Some House Republicans Are Back At It Pushing For Cheney Ouster | Talking Points Memo

Some House Republicans have suggested that Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) could be ousted as conference chair within a month as prominent members of the chamber’s GOP caucus fume over her unwillingness to bend to the enduring influence of former President Donald Trump.

The criticism comes after the GOP erupted into outrage after Cheney suggested to reporters on Monday that the party’s elected leaders were in charge of the GOP — rather than former President Trump.

Elected leaders outraged at the thought that elected leaders might be in charge instead of the former guy who lost them the Presidency, the Senate, and the House? Sounds about right.

And this from the party that loves to throw “elections have consequences” in our faces every time they pass a deeply anti democratic or unpopular bill.

Scalise is right: Trump offers a lot.

But he forgot to mention that Trump also delivers practically nothing.

As per the image of Cheney in her mask…

India reports 400,000 infections in one day (yesterday)/ That’s the reported number. The actual number is likely far higher. They lack the wood to burn bodies. People die waiting in lines to get in hospitals. There’s no supplemental oxygen Families burn funeral pyres on city sidewalks because there’s no room at local crematory yards. The situation could be helped with a shut down Dr Fauci says. I think India is well past that helping. PM Modi held campaign rallies in West Bengal 10 days ago. Each rally was a super spreader event. India has 1.4 billion people as it’s population. How do you shut down a country of that many people? How can that many get vaccinated in time to do any good when they lack the necessary ingredients to make vaccine against covid. That India has the capacity and the ability we know since they have the largest vaccine producing company world wide. They just don’t have what’s needed to make 4 billion doses.

Liz Cheney is a hard-right conservative.
She’s also smart—and that makes her dangerous.

All this internecine warfare in the GQP is just making her stronger.

I think you’re right. I think the Republican Party will come out of this -eventually- looking more like an American political party again, instead of a fascist fraternity of has-beens.
