Some GOPers Blame Colleagues’ Anti-Democracy Scheme For Fueling Capitol Riots | Talking Points Memo

Some prominent Republicans on Sunday took aim at members of their party who vowed to challenge President-elect Joe Biden’s electoral victory last week, arguing that those who egged on President Trump’s efforts to delegitimize the election process also fed into Trump’s incitement of his supporters before they ultimately breached the Capitol.

Bingo and I would add Mark Levin, Giuliani and many many others in RW talk radio and cable news who championed this.

Now, what will they do this week with the tools about to be handed them?

Stay tuned.

They’re probably the only people in the Senate that are still talking to them.

I can imagine the two bozos are being shunned by just about everyone in the Senate chamber just now. Who would want to be associated with them just now?

Can they be stripped of their committee assignments? It seems I recall that happening to another Republican Senator in the not too distant past.

Love to see that Marriott Corporation has shut off future campaign funding to the treason twins.

And the PGA has yanked a 2022 tournament from Fat Nixon’s NJ golf course.

Consequences have consequences…

Anyone who backs Trump is to blame.

"They’re going to have a lot of soul searching to do,” Toomey said. Silly Toomey, they don’t have souls to search, just bottomless black pits of ambition.

Let us first start with all those who made the speeches at the rally preceding the January 6 Coup. Then go after all of the institutions that funded the coup attempt with money, resources and propaganda.

We have to go after terrorist financiers and their institutions with some the same determination and methods that we used after 9-11. Treasury and the banks have to be involved and assets frozen quickly.

As long as the right wing media supports the sedition caucus with silliness like blaming Antifa or going after Twitter for kicking Trump off, America is headed to a dark place. Some wing nut politicians have to be punished and until the right wing media realizes that they need to do the right thing we are in deep shit.

It looks like some Republicans don’t like being thrown to an angry mob. Is it enough for them to say “enough”? Will they finally say the party doesn’t come first?

These Republicans who making their own, individual statements asserting the truth of the Biden election victory and the Big Lie perpetuated by their colleagues and their propaganda outlets need to unite, force the fence-sitters to come to their side, and make a grand statement en masse to the nation in one loud and clear voice.

Is this the same Senator Blunt who told Margaret Brennan on Face The Nation that Trump has touched the hot stove and is no longer a threat?

On a related matter, it’s not the White House that Trump will have to be dragged from, kicking and screaming. It’s Mar-a-Lago. Trump has regained some of his malignant composure, predicting that Pence will not invoke the 25th Amendment. Trump plans to do a series of victory-lap rallies in the coming days, highlighting his successes. My gut-churning premonition is that he incites his mob of terroristic supporters to surround him at his Florida plantation to prevent his extradition to New York in a Waco-like standoff.

So she was assistant Chief to Chief Steven Sund. Did she know that they were hopelessly understaffed for the day’s events? Did she communicate this to the chief? Did he ignore her concerns, if expressed? Her testimony will be very interesting in the soon-to-come investigations.
