Some GOPers Are Queasy About Trump Lawlessly Moving Money Around During Shutdown

Originally published at: Some GOPers Are Queasy About Trump Lawlessly Moving Money Around During Shutdown - TPM – Talking Points Memo

President Trump and White House officials have been picking and choosing what programs to fund while the federal government is shut down — and they’re doing it without permission from Congress. A bipartisan handful of lawmakers aren’t happy. Here’s how the cycle has gone in recent weeks: The White House and Republican lawmakers will engage…

Also haven’t seen anything on TPM that Arizona has filed the lawsuit to get their rep sworn in.

No charity, unless controlled by a Trump family member or crony will ever see that money.

Why take the check to begin with. Give it back to the tax payers. If he follows through, he is penalizing the citizens of this country including his beloved MAGA.

I wonder if Republicans losing their healthcare will be yelling at congressmen to “keep your government hands off my Obamacare”?

In a letter addressed to Johnson the group of Republicans warned him that “millions of Americans are facing drastic premium increases“ as a result of the Obamacare subsidies expiring at the end of the year.

While the letter blamed Democrats for the situation at hand and condemned them for leveraging government funding talks to extend the credit, they urged Johnson to help the party “chart a conservative path” forward on the credits.

“Allowing these tax credits to lapse without a clear path forward would risk real harm to those we represent. Nevertheless, we must chart a conservative path that protects working families in our districts across the country who rely on these credits,” the letter said.

If the whole DoJ doesn’t recuse itself from this bullshit lawsuit everyone of them should be disbarred. That goes double for the leadership.

…they urged Johnson to help the party “chart a conservative path” forward on the credits.

So-called conservatives claim to have been looking for this path for decades. Such a path does not exist.

Congressional Democrats, of course, have been asking Republicans to work with themon extending the subsidies for weeks now, while GOP leaders have refused.

Isn’t it time for some theater? Can’t the House Dems return to Washington and stake out the capitol, emphasizing that they are ready to work? Can’t they post pictures of the Speaker in a Waldo shirt in various exotic locales every hour? Can’t they start meeting with substitute lawmakers from each state in a Bethesda Gym and actually draft bills that would be like proof of what they will do when they take over Congress in a year? Can’t they hang this albatross around the GOP’s necks until the political cost is just too high?

It’s not about the money, it’s about whitewashing the criminal indictments against him under Biden. He’s trying to rewrite the history, and his stooges in this DOJ will do that for him. But the history books will say something else.

Seems like the only principle he has in his life is that restitution must be made to him in at least the hundreds of millions and often in the billions of dollars for every single time he’s felt that his pwecious widdle rights or precious widdle fee fees have been hurt or abridged by somebody somewhere. Either for real or only in his imagination and whether they did what he’s accusing them of for real, on purpose or only accidentally or whether they didn’t actually do anything at all, and of course he nefver ever ever could have deserved it, whatever it was.

The endless “damages” he claims to have suffered – and the vast amounts of restitution he repeatedly demands for them is staggering. And, of course, the entire time he’s utterly oblivious at all times and in any events to any damage that’s ever been suffered by anybody else.In fact, he’s pretty constantly wishing pain of all kinds on pretty much everybody but himself. While nobody but him. Nobody but him ever suffers. His selfishness is astronomical, just like his ignorance.

And yet bunches of idiots run around waving flags with his name on them and saying he was put in his damn office by a god.

I think it may be slowly driving me mad. lol

I am guessing that he plans to use the money from the DoJ to pay for the ballroom abomination. He will call that a donation to the American people.
