As the Senate votes to acquit President Trump over his bid to extort the Ukrainian government into providing him with domestic political help, TPM has new evidence suggesting that the pressure campaign came far closer to succeeding and at an earlier stage than was previously known.
Hey Josh, next time you get Lev on the line, ask him who he was working for or with to get Ambassador Yovanovitch fired before he and Fruman hooked up with Rudy. He has been very cagey about the details of the earliest part of the Ukraine shenanigans.
Let’s hope that the MSM picks up on this story faster than their usual 2-3 months lag time. Let’s also hope that they have enough class to attribute the story to Josh and Josh. Let’s also hope that they stop treating Hannity and Solomon, and Fox and The Hill, as anything resembling journalists, and call them out for the whores they are.
I think we’re in Michael Cohen territory here: he’s got a lot to say, but nothing about the ‘family’ connections that brought him into this in the first place.
Maybe, but it also seems pretty likely that he’s keeping mum on the pre-Rudy stuff because that’s what he’s been charged with so far. My working theory is that he’s dangling cooperation on the post-Rudy stuff, but SDNY/DOJ aren’t biting. Brody has made it pretty clear that he thinks DOJ is interfering with SDNY’s ability to cut a deal with his client.
I wonder what Joseph Bondy and Lev Parnas have to say about this. Did Lev have anything to do with the meet ups with Poroshenko. His evidence suggests, yes.
The Romney vote to convict gives Dems more juice to keep pushing hearings in the House.
It would certainly make the GOP happy to have one of their favorite propagandists explain the entire Joe and Hunter Biden Ukrainian corruption story. But that would seem to be unhelpful to finding out anything about the truth.
don’t you think lev and igor were working the naturally gassy oligarchs to open up the grift train? insider info, bribes, kickbacks, biz deals eastern euro-style? yovanovitch was so incredibly in the way.
TPM has been on top of this aspect of Ukraine, thanks to Josh K who seems to have an inside line. And, I think we’ve known for a while that this was going on for a year or so before the July 25th call; tracking that history and filling in the blanks is important, even in light of the impeachment acquittal. If the entire story can be laid down, with all of the dots connected, then it will make it clear that this was a long term conspiracy and that the Senate Republicans just let Trump get away with a real crime.
We’re going to continue to get this, over the next nine months…it’s really up to people like TPM to dig the information out as Trump and the Republicans try to cheat in the election in November, so we know and make sure they don’t get away with it.
Perhaps it would give Solomon that opportunity under R questioning. But, I don’t know who he would do under questioning by Democrats including going into how he was fired as a “reporter” and only retained as an opinion writer.
Yes, that seems pretty likely. They were charged with using foreign money to make campaign and PAC contributions, and that pretty much screams “Oligarchs!” Plus, we know they were hitting up Ukrainian money at that time, e.g., the infamously failed meeting with Kolomoisky in Israel.
