Georgia state Sen. Colton Moore (R) said on Tuesday a civil war might break out when former President Donald Trump goes to trial for his efforts to overturn the state’s presidential election results in 2020.
Damn, who knew Republicans would be willing to go so far to protect a guy who was busy breaking laws? They are willing to incite riots and rebellions to protect a guy that incited an insurrection. If Sen Moore feels he needs to draw his rifle, he best make sure there’s no police around if he points it.
It’s even funnier the Republican defend of all of this is “they were just questioning the election”, when they know good and damn well that conspiring and submitting fraudulent elections documents is a bit more than just questioning.
Like fantasy football, some GOPers wanta play fantasy Civil War.
To do so for real, they need to know that first they need to convince a large number in the state to give up all the Federal entitlements and advantages, second form their own pseudo-nation-state hoping it is a real-nation state in the making, and third succeed in fighting off the Federal government and convincing the rest of the world they are a for-real-nation. That list is not all encompassing, but it is a start.
Anything else is just terrorism without the fingerprints, and fantasy Civil War.
Well sparky …I don’t want to have to draw my rifle either so how’s 'bout you finger out another way to resolve this according to our constitution? Isn’t that whatn you swore an oath to do in such situations?
GOP leaders want as much real civil war as it takes to subdue democracy, but these fops are not willing to disrupt their lives of privilege to accomplish it. They want to wake up one day to find that their political opponents have all vanished, leaving the nation to them by default, all without their having to relinquish their cushy jobs of shit-posting for big govt money.
Very critically, that means they have to lead the march toward civil war from the rear, which is hard to do. It’s tricky to goad somebody into doing something, especially if you have to talk in code and you can’t even pretend to be out ahead of them on the issue.
I assume this complacence is partly due to the fact that most GOPers are just loud boors from Walmart that Organized Money deputized for expedience. Koch has been recruiting ignorant blowhards with neither convictions nor courage, not committed revolutionaries.
