Shortages, Coronavirus-Infected Bodies Shaking Funeral Industry

“We’re pretty much out — have been out since last week.”

Angelo Frazetta sighed.

“I must take 30 calls a day from funeral homes looking for masks, gowns, etc., etc.,” he said. “I can put them on a waiting list. I can’t even say when we’ll get anything.”

We’re going to need mass graves before this is said and done.

Trump: “We’re going to build a great big, beautiful mass grave – the best! – and China will pay for it.”

Deplorables: “Build that pit! Build that pit!”

I can’t like it, but it’s believable.

Don’t mean to be crass but cremation would be a lot safer and is better for the enviroment

A ceremony with the remains is then possible also.

This is interesting. The respiratory infection package of this Finnish test manufacturer for quick nasal/throat swab testing for 10 common respiratory infections has been expanded to include covid-19. Press release in Finnish. So far will only be available in Finland, but China is likely to be next.

After I die and donate my body to science fiction, will you deliver the eulogy?

Bigly lots of room at Trump Tower. Creative re-use, now that Melania has fled…

This is just the beginning. The number of corpses is obviously already too much for some areas to handle. Cremation is probably the best answer but there aren’t enough to handle large numbers. In one of the hurricanes, NC had so many dead hogs that they had to bring in portable incinerators to take care of them. It might come to the National Guard collecting corpses and taking them to those same incinerators for disposal and the survivors won’t be getting a box of ashes. Thanks to Trump and all the assholes who voted for him.

“Even when everything is shut down, or very close to that, we still have to take care of people’s loved ones,” said Robinson. “Death does not stop.”

IF ONLY the Covidiot Trump and the Covidiot-45 Virus would just STOP lying, delaying, playing doctor and gaming the system for more $$$ and re-election…then the death toll would be lower!

Meanwhile…These are dark times…US has reached 100K Covid-19 infection and 1,543 death toll.

Amen, amen, amen.

I agree. In the light of the high risks and lack of access to PPE, could funeral homes compel families to use cremation?

For a tidy little sum of $1500 or so. After reading this article, I don’t begrudge the funeral service this, but it is pricey based on the cost and labor involved. I’m channeling my inner Walter Sobchak.

Yes but compared to what they charge for embalming, casket and funeral it is a steal
Capitalism you know you only need their service once

This is Trump’s Vietnam. We had the bombing of our country with money today and now we are on a curve to double cumulative deaths every three days for a while. In Vietnam, it became fashionable to talk about the kill-to-loss ratio, like if we were killing 15 of them for every one of us, was acceptable. After the Tet Offensive, however, it was over for us and it was over for Johnson just two months later, in an election year. This is going to be horrible for the US, and it will expose serious structural flaws that have developed over many decades. Trump is about to get his Tet on steroids.
