The thing is, they’ve won the first battle – the gutting of the federal government workforce. Even if judges rule against it, many of those workers are out on the street (and in some cases their former buildings are locked up, as Josh noted a few days ago).
Congress, especially the GOP, ain’t doin’ nothing – they’ve been wanting this for a generation. What will happen now is that stuff will start slipping, either in slow ways – checks not being cut, people waiting on hold forever – or there will be a major crisis (like the measles outbreak getting bigger). At that point, I hope we start getting action.
I’m going to an Indivisible meeting soon. I hope it’s productive and not a lot of name-calling about people’s pet issues.
