Senators Urge SEC to Investigate Truth Social Plan to Sell Access to Wall Street

Originally published at: Senators Urge SEC to Investigate Truth Social Plan to Sell Access to Wall Street - TPM – Talking Points Memo

Two influential Senate Democrats are pushing back on the nearly unfathomable idea that a company owned by the sitting U.S. president can sell Wall Street early access to that president’s thoughts and actions. Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), ranking member of the Senate Banking Committee, and Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA), a member of the Senate Judiciary…

They’ll look into it.

In six years.

“Trump Media’s new service threatens to undermine the integrity of capital markets.”

“If Donald Trump had put his money in an index fund and left it, he’d be richer today.”

Personally, I wouldn’t take driving directions much less investment tips from him. The risk is all yours. He keeps your $100,000.

Manipulated markets is a bad investment.

They must be crazy… It’s a waste of time as long as all of TRUMP’s MAGAt flunkies remain in office.

So they should just stay quiet and provide no pushback?

Sure. Ask Trump’s SEC to investigate Trump’s social media platform. Not going to happen.

Meanwhile, the Adjudicated Rapist’s personal attorneys and the DOJ (they’re interchangeable) have asked the SCOTUS to intervene in $83.3 million award he owes E. Jean Carroll, claiming that slandering her was “part of his presidential duties.”

“Absent this Court’s intervention, the sitting President is facing nearly a hundred million dollars of personal liability for conduct that was well within the scope of his federal office,” federal attorneys wrote. “That alone deserves this Court’s attention.”

Under a real SEC, it would be clear that anyone with a subscription to the felon’s early-access program was using material nonpublic information to trade and would be required to disgorge all profits. Which would reduce the market for subscriptions substantially.

It’s been a bigly great investment for TSF, terrible for everyone else - currently at $9.85, so less than half the final data point in this graph

Never write “ways in which”. It marks a lazy thinker and inefficient writer. But we already knew that.

Doing their very best against all odds. Far different from Hillary telling Wall Street to “cut it out” during the GR.

Works in a teaching environment but is weak when used in story writing.

How by any definition is slandering a woman he’s been adjudicated to have raped or sexually assaulted part of his job description?

C’mon Maga, explain how slandering someone is part of preserving and protecting the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign or domestic.

Oh wait, Trump is so damn important that only he can make deals with putin, only he can put the Iranians in their place, only he can impose tariffs that only the American people get to pay to American businesses large and small.

We’re a nation of rubes, yeehaw.
