Senators Object To Depictions Of Torture in ‘Zero Dark Thirty’ | Talking Points Memo

Sens. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), Carl Levin (D-MI), and John McCain (R-AZ) claimed in a letter dated Wednesday that the new film “Zero Dark Thirty” is “grossly inaccurate and misleading” in suggesting that torture led to the tracking down of Osama bin Laden. In the letter to Sony Pictures Chairman and CEO Michael Lynton, the senators acknowlege that the film is fictional but contend that it is “factually inaccurate” and urge him to state that the role of torture “is not based on the facts, but rather part of the film’s fictional narrative.” Read the letter.
