After weeks of traipsing to various Senate offices to meet lawmakers one-on-one, Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson will appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee Monday for the start of a multi-day hearing marathon.
Does Senator Durbin really think that Hawley or any other Republicans from McConnell down to the base voter will allow themselves to be confused by the facts?
AND Grassley jumps in with both feet…‘DEMOCRATS didn’t vote for ‘diverse’ nominees so we’re not RACIST when when we ask for her LSAT scores…’ yeah Chuck. Useful idiot.
Fucking Grassley opening with “we are off to a good start as the Republicans didn’t interrupt Sen. Durbin’s opening statement like the interruptions I experienced when I introduced Cavenaugh”
Blockquote
Mitch McConnell (R-KY). McConnell had claimed in a statement that “Judge Jackson was the favored choice of far-left dark-money groups.”
Adding “I will only support nominees pushed by far-right dark-money groups.”
The playbook should be straightforward here: Make sure all 50 Dems are on board, ignore every single Repuke distraction and get her confirmed ASAP. Let the GQP grandstand all they want; if we have the votes she will be on the Court.
also, Blackburn (R-pre-history) is attacking birth control?
I hope the Tennessee Dems are saving that clip and will use it when Blackburn is up for re-election. She just said women do not have a protected right to birth control.
Grassley has always been confused about lying, possibly because he fudges the truth on a daily basis. Putin is not a liar like Pinocchio, he’s a super-wealthy autocrat (possibly the richest man in the world). Both Pinocchio and Putin are liars, of course, but there is a matter of degree and human carnage involved. I don’t recall, for example, reading a bed time story about “Pinocchio nukes Odessa” or “Pinocchio orders death of daycare attendees”. Remember this one?
Grassley: Various White House bashing (including claims that Biden was given a short list of candidates from various dark-money groups — a clear echo from the Trump era, when then-candidate Donald Trump said he’d pick Federalist Society-approved Supreme Court candidates)
Um, may we see the donor lists of the Federalist Society, please?
