Senate Republicans Wish House GOP Well In Their Debt Ceiling Fight And That’s About It

It appears Senate Republicans don’t want to touch House Republicans’ plans to hold the debt ceiling hostage with a 10-foot pole.

Lindsey will offer to hold Jim Jordan’s coat.

And this is one of my minpins.

I wish I knew who was bankrolling the House GOP insanity. That would tell us a lot about why so many GOP congressmen and women are intent on committing political suicide.

It is completely reasonable to require the GOP to announce exactly what programs and amounts they intend to cut as part of their “legislative program”. If the cuts will be irrational and unpopular (and, we know that they will be both) they should be required to spell out what they propose in advance, and in some detail.

It is a sure thing that thoughtful legislators like Bobert and Co. will be able to spell out their agenda.

Sen Graham has been rather quiet of late, now that I think about it. I guess there’s not much need for a Trump Whisperer in the party if no one wants to listen to Trump.

Well, how Trumpian of the House MAGAts, i.e. to incur debts and then stiff 'em. This is the party of personal responsibility? What a damned joke.

Anybody with cash. Foreign governments are just walking their own people into congress now, and why not. Santos and his mystery money and vague nationality is a perfect example. We still don’t know where he got the money.

I imagine the usual suspects, The Federalist Society, the Kochs, Peter Theil, maybe the widow Adelman, and so on. More well heeled repubs, and they’re only the ones we know about. Dark money is called that for a reason.

It was probably VP trip schedules(*) or grocery shopping lists, there is a problem of over-classification. Now what Trump was hoarding was something else entirely although there were probably a few instances of innocuous things.

(*) I guess these kind of things are important to keep secret before the trip for security reasons, but once the trip is over and everyone knew about it, what is the point of keeping it classified.

This is my other minpin. She’s almost 13, has a bad heart, takes almost as many medications as I do and I love her to bits.

As politics go My Pants is small potatoes, there’s probably no there there, but it demonstrates that papers of all kinds are gathered up in moving from one office or domicile to another, but orange is the only one with docs he shouldn’t have that Feds should be focused on. Biden’s papers is just a media created frenzy, sooner it ends the better.

That probably explains Graham’s measured comments about Biden’s classified document issue.
