This does nothing to constrain oversight. It just subjects any legislation to veto if Congress tries to defund the agency for the rest of this presidential term.
Anyway, abolish DHS, obliterate ICE and CBP.

According to the reliable source below, this regime, Republican US senators and Republican US representatives also don’t want oversight (legislative or judicial) regarding United States intelligence community surveillance of American citizens while in the US:

Apparently all American citizens are permitted the freedoms (previously birthrights) enumerated in the Constitution ONLY at the pleasure of a demented dictator.

… when the shutdown caused a shortage of TSA personnel, Trump sent ICE agents to 14 airports.
Just returned from overseas travel. When returning through the Global Entry immigration process (DFW). we were lined up until there were about 20 of us waiting, then that line was marched through a maze while employees yelled “Keep moving! Keep moving!”. During the march, I realized that we were being scanned, At the end of the march, we were lined up in front of 2 desks staffed by men wearing ICE POLICE jackets, wearing bullet-proof vests (and probably armed, although I didn’t have time to notice) where we waited until our names were called and we were let through.
Horribly dystopian feel to it. Nobody cared whether you were bringing in non-native plants, foreign agricultural diseases, expensive imported items or other concerns from the past. Unless we make changes, it’s just a matter of time before we’re pulled out of line for one invented infraction or another and disappeared.

forcing the Senate Republican senators to make some very awkward votes.
Meaning, votes for things the majority of people want, but Republicans don’t, because Republicans just want to leech off money, not provide public service.
McConnell is at the top of the list with no competition for the spot. He knew how dangerous Trump was and said so out loud. Then caved to partisanship rather than the good of the country.

Twice!! Yes, he had lots of company. I do find it interesting that in the history of this country, we have never removed a President from office. It’s long past time for that to happen. Another day of disappointment after finishing the obituaries.
