Senate Republicans Flee From Graham’s National Abortion Ban

Shortly after Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) unveiled his 15-week national abortion ban, with much hoopla and flanked by anti-abortion activists, his Republican peers started backing away from his proposal.

There are seemingly no depths to which Senator Graham will not sink. Good luck, Linz.

“I think most of the members of my conference prefer that this be dealt with at the state level,” said Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) when asked if he’d schedule the bill for a vote, should Republicans win the Senate.

Abortion is the murder of an fully human child, and we’re totally fine with that as long as it only happens in places that are okay with murdering babies. It’s fine then.

Not actually a denial by mitch. They’re pissed that lindsey said it before the mid-terms. Even so, the repubs taking control of the senate seems very unlikely this time around especially after their scotus assisted their long expressed anti-abortion dream with the dobbs v. jackson ruling.

“That wasn’t a conference decision,” Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) told Politico. “It was an individual senator’s decision.”

Graham on Tuesday summarily upended the Republican refrain ever since the Supreme Court overturned abortion rights in Dobbs : that killing Roe was actually democratic, and would return the contentious issue to the states, where it belongs.

Instead, Graham introduced a nationwide ban, draping it in the anti-abortion lingo of “fetal pain,” “late-term abortion” and “unborn child.”
… … … … … …
Lindsey could be more believable should he offer child support and act like a dad to that fetus. But no, always some other person’s fault. Never theirs.

“Lindsey Graham? Never really knew him. I think he might have gotten water for me once. Haven’t heard good things about him.”

Barrasso and Cassidy are doctors and GOP senators. Cassidy, I think, is an OB/GYN. Has anyone heard from either about the bill from the fake doctor from South Carolina?

Not what I was looking for, but fuck, doubling down.

Geez, the Senate Goopers are a bunch of COWARDS. C’mon guys, OWN your misogyny! Reinforce that you don’t give a damn about women! And while you’re at it, start making MORE noises about taking away women’s rights – like to bank accounts, property, and the RIGHT TO VOTE.
