WASHINGTON (AP) — Senate Republicans voted overwhelmingly Sunday to advance Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett toward final confirmation despite Democratic objections, just over a week before the presidential election. The vote was 51-48.
“Actual credentials or qualifications were hardly featured” McConnell said.
When you have no credentials and are grossly under qualified then that’s to be expected .
Barrette is qualified for judge in the same way that Hugh Hewitt is qualified to run a major newspaper. She apes a justice’s mannerisms very well, but essentially she (like Kavanaugh) has been a career propagandist, and neither of them will suddenly discover jurisprudence after middle age.
curiously talk of Judge Barrett’s actual credentials or qualifications are hardly featured
Well now, that kind of talk might expose her complete lack of experience on the bench (only two years). Her actual creds don’t run a whole lot deeper than that, unless you count her extreme religious ideological work…
I need to see this man suffer a humiliating defeat, and die horribly, purple from head to toe. Russia, if you’re listening, a round of Tea for the Turtleman, if you please?
Anyone who didn’t see this coming the day RBG died was just fooling themselves. There was never anything the Democrats could have done to stop this. It’s the consequence of living in an idiocracy.
This is a country which has a chance–right now–to end GOP rule. It is called The Vote.
We can still do it.
I am tired of our focusing on the negative. There are a bunch of positive indicators that our Early Voting has outdone previous efforts. I would look at this as a start…a good start, and vow to increase what has already been some astounding numbers.
This article, as informative as it is, is a despair piece. We can turn this situation around but not with despair.
As a social psych experiment, I would wager that a reader of a Coney Barrett sham confirmation article would be more likely to turn away in disgust from an optimistic bearer of good Early Voting news than one who has not read a damn thing about Coney Barrett.
If Dems take the Senate: Immediately expand the Supremes to 13, set term limits, and expand the US District courts. While McConnell is still alive to see it all undone and powerless to stop it before his zombie hands fall off.
If he starts dying, I hope Beshear pre-announces appointment of McGrath to his seat before he passes.
