Parents emigrated from Ireland. His dad and uncles were laborers, as was he, in building trades. Union health care saved his life twice, first from lymphoma and second from alcoholism.

Biden really has the best people.

I guess that I’m naïve.

The Labor Secretary should be pro-labor.

OT, but if you need your daily dose of irony…

Since the outset of the pandemic, Fox has downplayed the severity of the coronavirus. The network’s hosts have peddled misinformation about the virus and railed against restrictions put into place to protect public health. While Fox did air a Sunday night special in February devoted to the vaccines, the network’s top host, Tucker Carlson, has most recently used his nightly show to undermine public confidence in the vaccines.

So, how’s that divorce from reality working out for ya?

That’s karma, not irony.

Unless we have a republican President. Then it’s anti-labor, all the time.

Awesome, the Department of Labor, for the benefit and for administrating Labor laws, as opposed to Republican Department of Keeping Labor Down.

Funny that the white guy got a relatively easy pass from the goppers.

Compared to the ladies and especially the colorful ladies.

The GOP is a lost institution, they need to get on the ash heap of history and have something more humanity based to replace them.

This is shocking, but tells you all you need to know about the relative power of management vs. labor in this country.

I think this is a tremendous appointment, but to really make progress, we need to reshape the Supreme Court -granted a hard lift, but absolutely necessary -as they’ve voted something like 120-0 in favor of corporate interests under Chief Justice Robert’s.

This has the smell of false flag fake news…

Do any of these people realize boss Rupert didn’t waste a nanosecond in getting the vaccine? Trump made sure he got it too. And I’ll bet Hannity, Tucker, and Ingraham got it too.

This is just outstanding. Regardless of how talented someone is, practice and familiarity are powerful tools, when plying one’s trade.

Walsh has had practice in talking to people** about unionization that someone without his perspective will never have.

.

**the kinds of people he needs to reach

Chao was transportation, if I remember correctly.

Ms. Chao is very much in favor of you and I laboring until we die in a horrible industrial accident. Is that what you meant by “pro-labor”?

On a more serious note, is OSHA under dept. of labor? If so, can someone give them a kick in the pants to issue meaningful COVID safety regs? I don’t want to rush them, but …

I believe she was labor secretary under W.

No, you’ve just got a radical socialist agenda and you’re out of touch with real Americans. I mean that as a compliment btw.
