Senate Homeland Security Committee chair Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) backed down on issuing a subpoena to a controversial witness in his investigation of Joe Biden, just one hour before a hearing on the demand was set to take place.
Johnson will do it at a later date. Closer to the election. It was meant to damage Biden in the primaries, but since he already wrap it up no point wasting their ammo now, then they will save the cartridge for the general election.
Ideally there would be activity that would flip this over on top of Johnson - take a piece of Romney’s proclamation that this is entirely politically motivated - and some other points - label him a fraud - and shove it so far down Johnson’s throat that he won’t ever be able to cough it back up.
Johnson said in a statement that he had chosen to “postpone” a vote on subpoenaing Telizhenko for records and testimony “out of an abundance of caution.”
Translation: “I saw this HUGE hand come out of nowhere, and it was writing stuff on the wall, and…”
Hey, Mr. chairman of Homeland Security, there’s a problem in the homeland you might want to think about dealing with, instead of going on yet another corrupt “investigation” to steal another election.
You might want to start by figuring out where all the testing kits are.
We might have Lindsey Graham, of all people, to thank for this; Graham has of course been gung-ho on investigating Hunter, but he’s also said he doesn’t want the hearings to further spread misinformation.
