Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) sent a letter March 1 indicating that he wants to begin issuing subpoenas in his investigation of the same debunked allegations that featured in President Trump’s impeachment.
Instead of saying it’s “debunked” and “meritless,” it would be helpful if the fucking media would explain why the timeline makes the whole thing ridiculous.
Johnson wrote that the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee had received “U.S. government records” about the matter, including State Department documents which, the Wisconsin Senator claimed, “corroborate records Mr. Telizhenko has already produced to the Committee.”
Johnson further stated that people should pay no attention to the fact that the 2019 and 2020 dates on said “U.S. government records” were scratched out and changed to 2015 and 2016 and that the authors of the “records” were not employed in government on the revised dates.
I am now seeing this same shit-show from the GOP fever swamps, except on the Coronavirus. Crazy right-wingers are convinced it is a mix of a Chinese bioweapons lab and the Democrats who created the virus.
And if there needed to be another good reason to flip the Senate in favour of Democrats, here it is. Stupid, unnecessary investigations of conspiracy theories and bad propaganda. The savings in air-time and blood pressure medication alone would be an unintended side-effect, imho.
