JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — The Southeastern Conference is considering barring league championship events in Mississippi unless the state changes its Confederate-based flag.
At first, I thought, “Wow, the Securities and Exchange Commission is getting woke.”
Imagine Trump’s confusion.
The black football players should refuse to play games in MS. Then the teams will be all white just like the 1950s when “America was Great”.
Lol, had the exact same reaction.
And leave us not to forget that the symbol on their state flag is actually called the “Confederate Battle Flag.”
They proudly flew it into battle in their bid to secede from the United States. If trying to pull out of the country is not traitorous, what is?
If anyone can do this, it is the SEC.
This is where the pressure must come from. Outside politics. And these outside organizations are who we need to be pressuring.
Nothing is more sacred in the South than the SEC. This will create hysteria if it stays as ‘news’.
Even it it weren’t racist (and it is) change it because It’s fugly. It’s a fucking eyesore.
The most amazing thing about this story is that there is an assumption that playing team sports like football amid COVID makes a lick of sense.
“Fun” Fact–Back in the early 1960s, Mississippi State qualified for the NCAA Basketball Tournament (only 16 teams in those days), and did not play because they might have to play against a team with black players. Horrors!

Me three - I started thinking “What possible leverage does the SEC have over a state like Mississippi?”
“First we lost NASCAR, then we lose the SEC. What could be next?” As the Great Leader predicted, there’s just too much winning with MAGA.

NASCAR had to appease their sponsors. I’ll bet there will be more Confederate Flags at the races than ever simply as an act of defiance.
What will NASCAR do put up signs and make announcements over the PA system. And let’s see them try to enforce it. It’ll be a unmanageable mess.
