Seattle Mayor Accuses Trump And Barr Of ‘Tyranny’ Over DOJ Effort To Charge Her Criminally

Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan accused President Donald Trump and Attorney General Bill Barr of “tyranny” late Wednesday suggesting the pair had warped the Justice Department into a “political weapon” used on those who speak out against the Trump administration.

This is a companion discussion topic for the original entry at https://talkingpointsmemo.com/?p=1332618

Attorney General Bill Barr asked the Justice Department’s civil rights division to explore bringing criminal charges against Durkan for allowing residents to establish a police-free protest zone earlier this summer.

The man is completely out of control.

And asking the Civil Rights division to do this takes Orwellian to new heights.

Trump’s narcasism leads him to fascism. Barr’s extreme religious bigotry leads him to fascism. Trump partially has mental illness as an excuse, Barr is just an evil hate filled man.

I want to see trump criminally charge and put in jail for his crimes, I want to see bill Barr tossed in solitary for the rest of his life, only to be visited by ms-13 gang members for a few hours every week.

:clap::clap: Bravo Ms. mayor! Keep fighting the good fight. Keep letting the sunshine in and pretty soon it will disinfect the rotten parts (you know, after November 3rd).

As the hours tick by today the reporting becomes darker.
Yes, this truly is tyranny being conducted at the highest level of government across all arms of the Executive Branch.

As it so often has been.

I also see that Preet Bharara has offered to represent her pro bono. That makes me almost hope that Barr does go after her – after I make a big batch of popcorn.

While I don’t always agree with Mayor Durkan, I think she has done an excellent job over the past six months. Just think of it…dealing with the Nation’s first big COVID outbreak…followed by the protests for racial equality.

I agreed with her when she let the protestors set up the Zone…and I agreed when they worked to take it back down.

NOT easy in a city that is markedly progressive and yet is home to huge capitalist enterprises.

PLUS…the bottom line is…THIS IS NOT YOUR CITY donnie…FUCK OFF.

For anyone else this would take balls which in Barr’s case doesn’t apply since he is a completely inadequate pussy as a man.

That’s nothing. Some lawyers would pay to take this case.

Next up, Barr will charge Biden with criminal negligence for failing to implement a national mask mandate.

Conservatives profess to believe in limited centralized government in favor of local government and decision making with emphasis on the rights of the individual and personal responsibility. The proviso with Trump and his corrupt band of supplicants is that that specific belief only applies to those that agree with them. Dissent is not allowed. Fascism, We Hardly Knew Ye!

Everything the authoritarian says must be defended to the utmost (no matter how insane or stupid), or we lose all justification for giving fealty to the authoritarian. That’s just common sense.

“But they are political in a good and necessary sense,” Barr contended at an event honoring Constitution Day at Hillsdale College.

Inviting Barr to speak at an event honoring the Constitution is like inviting David Duke to speak at an event honoring Dr. Martin Luther King.

The Goopers are all for “States’ Rights” and “Sovereign Citizens” until they aren’t. And obviously Lard Butt hasn’t thought his persecution through – what jury in Seattle will convict their Mayor? PROSECUTORS can’t file a petition for a change of venue – that’s up to the defense. Can anyone say “jury nullification”?

Yup. Besides Epstein, Barr has done a terrible job of removing problems.
