South Dakota state Rep. Will Mortenson (R) on Tuesday introduced a resolution with bipartisan support to impeach and remove state Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg (R), who has been charged with misdemeanors after killing a pedestrian named Joe Boever with his car.
They released the interrogation. The victimâs eye glasses were found in the cab of the AGâs car, because (evidently) his head went through the windshield. The victim was also carrying an illuminated flashlight, which was still on when the body was found.
Uh huhâŚwhere were all these sanctimonious aholes when this HAPPENED??? But now, from the Governor down they are hopping on the punishment train as ifâŚthey were always âconcernedâ.
Hereâs my guess what happened. He was texting, at night, veered out of his lane and hit that poor man. Killed him. Saw that he had done so ( all you have to do is turn the car around and use the headlights ) and called his buddy the Sheriff. Sheriff came and saw the mess and the two agreed to the âI thought I hit a deerâ excuse and went about investigating that killing in a way that would shield the AG. Unfortunately a man was dead and you canât just walk from that. It became impossible to conceal phone records that showed him textingâŚand here we are. Heâll walk on leaving the scene and vehicular manslaughter though.
Ravnsborg must be a Cruz-grade asshole that no one likes, that is why everybody is piling on him. In normal circumstances the GOP always close ranks on their own.
If heâs successful Mortenson plans to hold a $3.9 million fireworks display at Mt. Rushmore. A maskless crowd of 20,000 will be invited, and asked to stay afterward to watch Kristi Noem give a speech praising Donald Trump as the second coming of Christ.
If thatâs the case, whoever succeeds him in office should conduct an investigation. If it turns out that the Sheriff behaved corruptly, he would be in a world of hurt. However, seriously . . . . either this guy is a raging idiot and his party wants rid of him, or the details that will inevitably hit the press are so horrific that the party is putting as much distance as they can from him.
Normally, this would be no big deal in GQP circles. A tragedy, tots & pears, move on. Not this time.
Why doesnât the article mention that the victimâs eyeglasses were found in the glovebox of the AGâs car? After he came through the windshield, which the AG claims he never noticed?
I suspect that this is the new normal where the morons start eating themselves. Hopefully, a new opposition party with strong democratic tendencies will fill the void.
Yes, but even if that wasnât a big fricking âCLUE!!!â, the shenanigans with the sheriff driving Ransborg to his own house to pick up the sheriffâs personal vehicle so Ravnsborg could drive home is something that should be looked at.
Ravnsborg claims that he was unaware at the time of the collision that he had hit a person and that he did not discover Boeverâs body until he returned to the site of the crash the morning afterward.
Potential jurors are getting fired up over this story. It puts anyone else who may end up in a motor vehicle crash trial at greater risk of conviction. The AG still wonât see prison, but may resign to spend more time with his guilt.
