SCOTUS Has Set Up Tanya Chutkan To Fail In The Jan. 6 Case

“Donald Trump is pressuring Republicans to shut down the government at the end of this month if Congress doesn’t pass a GOP-backed proposal to establish new election rules nationwide.”
–NBC, Today

New election rules?

Like Democrats are ineligible? What election rules?

Apparently there’s a performative amendment to: drum roll, please - make voting by non-citizens illegal!

I don’t know what other nonsense is included - probably declarations that only GQP candidates should win and that the earth is flat.

That does not mean that they do not claim to be over 1000 years old. The “Windsors” are not known for their intellectual prowess, whatever their name is.
Too much inbreeding there.

Nope. I grew up in the mountains of NC. There was and still is, if you know where to find it, genuine bluegrass played by the goobers who live back up in the “hollers” and learned to pick from their daddys. I still can only tolerate it for about 15 minutes before my ears begin to bleed. There is a good film called “Songcatcher” that is explanatory of the real mountain people and the music they made. I think you can find it on YouTube.

Drachinifel or someone else? His thing on French pre-dreadnoughts (“When hotels go to war”) is pretty interesting.

You mean presidents aren’t supposed to act like mob bosses??!

Hey, I don’t believe what he says. I was repeating what he put out there. Guess I should have used the /s!

I’ve postponed weighing in on this topic for longer than I should have, seeing as to how I actually have TWO dogs in this fight.

ONE: I’m a dad to two, adult trans kids (AFABs) who came out to their mom and me in their mid-to-late teens. While their mom and I checked every box for how NOT to react/behave, we never considered tossing them out in the street or stopping loving them.

We got more education than we ever knew we needed and I have good relations w/ all three of our grown kids. I can assure y’all of this: when the two trans kids got their top surgeries in their late teens, my fairly decent health insurance didn’t cover a dime of the expense–not even when we had a psychologist’s letter of recommendation/diagnosis/etc. (AFTER a six-month minimum waiting period of observation to make sure they didn’t change their mind).

IIRC, those surgeries were about $15-16K apiece (‘simple’, i.e., no complications) and that was about ten years ago.

TWO: my wife (the kids’ mom) has been an RN for 40+ years, about the last 15 or so as a public-school nurse, including presently. To my understanding, she can’t give her schoolkids an aspirin if she doesn’t have preexisting paperwork to document that the kid can have it.

The idea that school personnel are performing major surgeries (anything w/ full anesthesia) w/o kids’, parents’, or anyone’s permission is so insanely ludicrous it beggars the imagination.

tRump should be challenged to “NAME ONE” person to whom this has happened or STFU (again).

Oh, TIFBG would find someone. An actor. Anyone.

But yes, you are correct, school nurses are unable to provide an aspirin, let along oversee major surgery.

But the MAGAts eat this up, like the garbage it is.

While out here in Colorado, they’ve gone crazy for burned cracker crusts and mingy portions of sauce and cheese in Chicago it’s spaghetti sauce and a load of cheese on top of soggy bread. Why oh why is it so hard to find a happy medium?
