Pretty sure this was a case of ‘discretion being the better part of Valor’.

Or maybe they just decided to ‘lay low’ until the whole thing blows over.

“The Wednesday order said that Barrett did not participate in the decision to deny the expedition request.”

Here’s how I hope their thought process went: “We could help install Donald again. But how long would six of us be able to wear these robes after that before we are made art objects hanging by them on the Mall?”

As for Covid Barrett - maybe she has just a bit of sangfroid, if not sense.

What would be the point of taking it up after the election? I doubt the Roberts wants to after the fact tell a state to eliminate ballots already counted and certified. Seems a stretch to me.

The point is that the Dread Pirate Roberts does not want to get involved in an election.

What if that is precisely the reason for doing it? You now have a case with standing with the legality of ballots in question.

They can read the polls and they don’t want to get involved on the wrong side in a likely blowout. Roberts is trying to head off the Dems from adding four new justices in 2021. I would bet that they won’t kill the ACA for the same reason.

So, Keg Stacks & Covoid Mary didn’t help Trump at all, this case. As per…I forgot his name…on Nicolle’s show on MSNBC. Only Gorsuck, Alito & Thomas voted to hear the case. Covoid Mary recused herself.

seems Roberts job requirements have expanded a little lately.

  1. some how try to look non partisan
  2. keep the kids from crying
  3. Baby sitting
  4. keep Kavanaugh sober
  5. teach Barrett to not speak out yet or write a far flung rightwing crash and burn dissent.

John Roberts is hanging on by his fingernails here, and it’s not going to continue for long. History has shown that when the Supreme Court comes up against the will of Congress, the president, and the people, they do not win.

I would’ve swapped Gorsuch & Kav, if I had to bet on it.

But this sounds like the Trump/Barr plan is to complain about mail-ins (all the GOP suits) and then those ballots will get mixed in with all the other mail-ins and then they sue to have all mail-ins tossed out.

Yeah, but it seems most Trump supporters do not pull their finger out of their asses long enough figure that out.

Coney Barret already beclowned herself by attending Trump’s campaign event in her honor. Keg Kavanaugh’s opinion earlier this week was a mess and had the faint smell of beer about it. Roberts has his work cut out for him to maintain the decorum of the court. He is barely holding on to legitimacy.

Is that a 40 in his hand?

Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but he must drink a lot of them.
