Schumer Urges Senate GOPers To Investigate Trump On Ukraine

Hi, this is 6 months ago calling to say "No Shit? Ya think?

Sure they do. Where they will promptly find him innocent of any wrongdoing, and deny anyone else a serious look at any potential evidence.

Unfortunately, you are right.

All these “new norms” are effing crazy!,

That’s an obvious attempt to create disunity among Dems.

Not sure “create” it the right word. Perhaps exploit the disunity?

Or exploit the fact Pelosi has bungled this from the beginning?

Probably. But I’m sure it’s done in bad faith.

We can leave “I’m sure” out of it with this administration.

Also, not sure the fact it’s bad faith and the fact they are trying to take political advantage makes this untrue.

Surely not being held responsible for one’s actions bolsters continued bad acts.

This is Donald Trumps whole life, playing out again at the highest stakes.

I agree it’s possibly true, but my point is they purposely “leaked” such info in order to divide democrats.

Not only will Moscow Mitch refuse to investigate Trump’s criminal blackmail of Ukraine to fabricate dirt on Biden, but probably he is personally implicated.

He is. Every voter…

Oh my, what a good piece of news this. Thanks.

You’re excusing republicans’ inactions on most everything that comes before them by saying Schumer should do something. That’s unacceptable.

I’m glad to see this from Schumer. He has little institutional power to make Moscow Mitch uphold his oath of office, but it’s nice to see Schumer using the bully pulpit effectively for a change. Here’s hoping he can keep it up

Which is why Democrats suck at politics. Moral Victory ≠ Victory. And “Republican’ts’ inaction” got them the sequester, the Catfood Commission, the heads of Social Security and Medicare on a silver platter (luckily Republican’ts wouldn’t take yes for an answer!), an extension of the Bush Tax Cuts for the wealthy, an expansion of the war in Afghanistan, austerity, CAFTA, the TPP (almost!), KORUS, war in Libya, war in Syria, more war in Iraq (ISIS), more money for the Pentagon and much, much more. It’s why I always say that the problem with Democrats is that when they have power they refuse to use it; the opposite is true for Republican’ts…

Ahem.

And if that doesn’t work, then start referring to McConnell as “Moscow Mitch” in all future correspondence and discussions; and let Moscow Mitch know that it will continue until his actions prove to Schumer that the moniker no longer fits him.

Schumer just needs to put in a Herculean effort to put up good candidates that match constituents in the various states against every one of those gooper Senators up for reelection. Frankly, I would be perfectly happy with that. Hire a real army of worker-bees and get that shit done, because the gooper Senators presently obstructing everything in the Senate to do with tRump, with MoscowMitch’s blessings and direction, aren’t gonna do shit. Face reality and get going on a real game plan for our future. We only have a little over a year to stand up some really good candidates and you don’t win if you don’t even try.

Sorry, my meaning was that 'will backing them up have any influence towards House and Senate Dems?" not “will he fade in the clutch?” Much as I and many of us here would like to do things fast and wrong, he didn’t get where he is by haring off on any tangent.
