This was the most heinous crime in our country’s history. There needs to be accountability or the conservative gangsters will try it again. If this country is ever to get back to normal, there must be some steps taken to bring it back to normalcy.

Repubs are making it easier for Sinema & Manchin to support ending the filibuster, which I suspect is precisely what these two have been waiting for. Imagine the good they could do for their home states if Dems could pass just about anything.

This attack on our Capitol was a direct attack on our Constitution, free and fair elections and the rule of law. We can’t make conservatives find their souls but we can stop them from thinking they are above the law.

As previously noted, there are two memos, one written by Nixon’s DOJ and the other by Clinton’s. Both political parties are in this up to their necks.
It would take strong leadership to disown the two memos but I agree with you that it should be done. The arguments not to do so are, constitutionally speaking, weak.

Seems to me that Biden is delivering … so far. It has been a wrenching change of direction as I envisioned it would be and it is delightful. The down side is Mitch McConnell is still around and trying his best to make a mess of things at a serious level. I wish the good voters in Kentucky could have collared those who fixed the voting in his favor. There was serious fraud involved on the GOP side there with long term democrat precincts suddenly voting GOP for Mitch and then democrats down ticket. It was truly weird and not well reported either. But it happened. If a young and enterprising and very brave reporter wanted to make a name for themselves that would be fertile ground for a Pulitzer.

McConnell is consumed by a desire to steamroll all with whom he comes in contact. Importantly, he does not do this out of a sense of duty…and I suspect the $$$$$$$ he gets from lobbyists is also a secondary motivation.
McConnnell does what he does out of a mixture of pleasure and compulsion. Obama read that on him the first time he saw him.

And that is exactly why I am pissed that Josh hawley took exception to the voting in Arizona. My lovely Mrs darr was deep in our elections dept for this past election and she told me of the background skuttlebutt in AZ. There was no fraud. My vote was legal and honest and it PISSES ME OFF that a puke senator would question my state. He can go pound sand.

Breast cancer could strike at anytime after 50. Just ask the millions of women who live with this metastasized condition. She wasn’t been given a life appointment even if McConnell thinks so. Life has a way of going off in unpredictable tangents. Covid is leaving millions of its victims with yet undiagnosed life threatening conditions.
Those who are younger are not immune to death. Making appointments on the basis of age rather than qualification usually backfires in any industry.

And it’s not just women who deal with it. Men can also get breast cancer although it is rare.
Breast cancer killed my mother in 1978 and that event changes my career direction. I devoted my career to research and teaching and my research centered on ovarian cancer. I am also a two time cancer survivor myownself.
