Schumer: Trump Has ‘Still Failed’ To Distribute Critical Coronavirus Relief Funding | Talking Points Memo

Two top Senate Democrats said the Trump administration has “still failed” to distribute more than $14 billion out of $25 billion relief bill that had been appropriated by Congress as part of its response to the coronavirus pandemic.

If pressed, they’ll give the entire 25 billion to Florida.

They gave away the strategy with the cruise ship. It hasn’t changed: if you don’t check for corpses it means no one is dead. I’ll bet Putin suggested this, learned from Chernobyl.

Making sure any funds distribution has kickbacks to the trump organization is an extra layer of work.

At least he could have distributed funds for his own campaign staff…

Feature not bug, that is until they figure how they can skim 10/15% off the top. Could that be a reason to slow testing, not to make numbers look good but rather to hid the skimming.

They ran out of corporations that sought funds. Why bother giving it to the little people who can’t contribute enough to the campaign to make it worth it?

Distributing money appropriated by congress is hard. First you have to get Jared’s list of subdivisions that are going to lend him money and then you have to engage in the kick back negotiations and then you have to ask Steve Mnuchin’s wife to pose with the money and then you have to … hell it is just hard.

Wit adequate testing and contact tracing and quarantine the COVID-19 virus can be eliminated or kept to very acceptable levels. That ain’t happening with Trumpski. Not ever.

Trump has failed himself by not doing his damned job. He’s failed more than any one of his brown-nosing toady sycophants.

His modus operandi is to blame everyone else, so he’s going to be very, very busy with his blame game.

He has screwed over the entire country with his failure to mitigate COVID-19. It is so bad that his own base in heavily red areas is going to catch COVID-19 or each will know multiple people who have caught the disease which Trump said was going to magically disappear. Look at the daily case graphs for TX, FL, GA, AZ, NC, TN, AL, SC, MS, MO, UT, AR, NV, OK, ID, AK and MT at https://www.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.html#/bda7594740fd40299423467b48e9ecf6.

Each and every one of these states is showing current case loads increasing at linear to exponential rates. Sick people are NOT HAPPY people. If sick people learn that the reason they are sick is because somebody didn’t do their damn job and actually impeded efforts to keep them healthy while lying to them, then they won’t like the liar who didn’t do their damn job. Hell, just compare the curves for the US against the curves for the EU!

If the state’s daily case graphs are any indication, we are going to see this US curve climbing even higher over the next couple of weeks. And we’re still in the first wave!

So, can Fux Snooze and Reich-Wing Radio continue to drown out the truth? Will these alleged BLOTUS IMPOTUS supporters race to the polls in November? If Saturday in Tulsa was any indication, they won’t.

Trump is a bigly loser. The bigliest loser. I’m working to see him lose biglier than AuH2O in '64.

Is there a point to these letters beyond getting a story on A13? I mean, I’m sure past administrations would respond substantively, but this republican administration? Yeah, no.

And if the purpose is only to get a story in the paper, why not just say what you all are saying here in this thread?

Revised Chuck Schumer: The republican administration has failed to disburse billions that Congress appropriated for C19 testing. We can only assume that they’re still working out how to steal the money, because that’s what they do. Steal taxpayer dollars.

Baseless accusation? Maybe. But it would force a response and maybe get you on A3.

Basically the places with a big Covid spike early, before quarantine are doing ok as they open.

It’s not herd immunity, it’s herd consciousness.

Those areas saw more infection, and death. Thus are more likely to have had a loved one affected.

Areas that were quarantined before any spike are getting their spike now.

Remember, opening back up only means there is room in the hospital and ICU. Not eradication.

A sobering thought, given how horribly this administration responded and how grossly incompetent they’ve proven themselves at the simplest forms of governance - what if it had been ebola?
