I just finished chatting with a friend who spent over 25 years in SE Asia and the Pacific. He says that HQ is NOT to be taken lightly. It can have some pretty severe side effects including just turning your brain to Jell-O and messing with your head very badly. Plus heart issues. He said that a lot of professionals there won’t take it because they can’t function on it, and there are alternatives.
To be honest, I see three possibilities. 1) Trump is just lying to gin up a deflection. 2) Trump thinks he’s getting HQ, but they’re giving him an orange Flintstone vitamin instead. 3) He’s taking it, but at a low enough dosage that it’s useless other than as something magical Trump thinks will keep the virus at bay.
Because if he were taking the full 400mg/day dosage, he would be so messed up that . . . aw, screw it, we’d never be able to tell.
I agree - I think Krugman hit it right on the head. Trump’s pathological obsession to always be right is the origin of this, and he probably isn’t actually taking it - just saying he is so that he can claim that all of his premature bullshit about the drug has some basis in fact. He is a really sick man, just not with COVID - yet.
Aaaaand that’s the exact doctor I was referring to. I have no doubt there is some doctor prescribing him a a cocktail of both illicit and medically necesssary drugs for conditions he wouldn’t want WH doctors to know about. We have no idea what all Dotard is on, but it ain’t just a daily statin.
Yes. Every dem asked about any DT statement should note in every interview that we should consider whatever DT says to be a lie unless there’s proof. No exceptions.
Dr. Rick Bright whom PP fired recently spoke on 60 Minutes this past Sunday about the dangers of it taking it. That’s why Fatso is saying he’s taking it. There’s no record of his personal physician prescribing it either. So let’s call this lie no. 18,090.
But he ought to listen to Doctor Nancy who recommended that the “morbidly obese” one not take it. Or not.
This is all circus, Trump just said he is taking hydroxychloroquine, to distract the media form the IG firings or maybe some other scandal or fuck up that he wants to bury. He is not taking it personally and anyone that does just because he say he did, deserves any side effects he gets. There are 8 billion people on this world losing a handful of the most stupid ones is probably a good thing but wont change anything
Conley’s memo reveals one thing for sure: he doesnt want to lose his medical license, which is what would happen if he was giving Trump hydroxychloroquine.
Would YOU want to be the asshat who caused the presidents death by shirking your medical duties?
Of course he’s lying, Trump lied about the effectiveness of hyrdoxychloroquine weeks ago and has since been proven wrong, now he’s doubling down so in his mind, he is proven right, by the fact that he can “take it” and survive just fine.
He’s taking it or not taking it, but seems he said it to just see what the reaction would be and how long it would go on. Notice he hasn’t come out and said he was joking yet.
We’re presented with news from which ever TPM reporter is on deck, but as TPMers have done for years, you can go off topic and present other topics giving us data on dead, sick, State Dept. corruption, or whatever, and people will jump on it and make it a thread.
@bonvivant Change the topic. I’m going to throw this one in, about BHO maybe saving us from Fat Nixon because of Fat Nixon’s overreach.
Whatever he is taking under the table, it ain’t this tho. He would never risk these side effects in a million years, and everyone should know and understand that as well as they know and understand how to tie their shoes.
