Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) on Tuesday morning cast doubt on President Donald Trump’s claim to be taking hydroxychloroquine, an anti-malaria drug, to ward off COVID-19 infection.
I actually thought the same thing when Trump said he was taking hydroxychloroquine… “well that’s bullshit designed to get his legion of rubes to buy it.”
I have no trouble believing he’s actually taking it nor do I question whether he’d lie about taking it. He lies so much and so often about things that are both trivial and very serious that there’s really no way for anyone outside his inner circle to have any idea what may actually be true. I also don’t question whether some doctor in his harem of quacks would prescribe it to him. Sure, they would. Somebody’s prescribing him all the Adderall.
Well of course the morbidly obese, at risk, sulfur-crested shitwit is lying again and probably isn’t taking it. And on the remote chance that he is, just die the fuck up from “possibly fatal side effects.” Hasta la vista, baby, you fucking waddling, corpulent wanker.
He probably is. He’s a hypochondriac/germaphobe who really is stupid enough to believe what he says sometimes. He’s probably just taking 1 pill a day, though, which won’t likely harm him.
Rick Bright testified to Congress last week and was on 60 Minutes on Sunday discussing how hydroxychloroquine is not proven effective for COVID-19 treatment or prevention.
So, of course Trump has to lie and say he’s been taking it - just to show that he, the stable genius, is right and the expert scientist Bright is wrong.
I figured Trump was lying about it, probably for financial gain (his or his buddies), or it’s possible that he demanded to be given the drug and the WH physician is giving him sugar pills instead. Either seems like a real possibility, one which never would have been at all possible with previous presidents.
It’s telling that the WH physician refused to confirm anything, there’s something fishy going on and they are trying to avoid involvement. This is another area that needs to be cleaned up, the American people should know the health status of the president, and it’s obvious Trump has been manipulating that even before this.
According to FAQs on the FDA website The drug was approved ONLY for use with hospitalized Covid-19 patients weighing over 110lbs. I concede he meets the size criterion, but he’s not taking this at all. His Dr’s letter merely states that they had discussed it and concluded that the benefits outweigh the risks. Says neither that it was prescribed (don’t see how it could have been prescribed as a prophylaxis) nor that Dipshit has taken it.
In any event it would probably be the first time in his life he waited 2 weeks before blabbing about something he thinks helps him.
But Kayleigh Mannequiney says “the president should be taken at his word.” For some reason I still can’t get over that. It’s like insisting earnestly that the sky is green and isn’t up. One of the most obvious, commonly agreed-upon facts in the human experience as it is lived today is that Donald J. Trump lies all the fucking time. In his own statement yesterday he said he takes it, he would take it, he doesn’t but he would, he took it maybe once or for a short period and then takes zinc, it was this hallucinatory fog of possibilities where squares have three sides or is it five and presidents are or aren’t taking some drug and his doctor says we talked about it and Schrodinger’s cat winks at you from beyond the grave and who knows what’s going on?
Indeed, Trump physician Dr. Sean Conley’s memo to White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany on the drug doesn’t definitively state that the President is actually taking it, only that the two of them “concluded the potential benefit from treatment outweighed the relative risks.”
Treatment means treatment for corona. So if he’s not lying, he’s taking it because he has covid.
Nowhere does Conley say that hydroxychlorquine is good for prophylaxis.
