Schumer Pounces On ‘Explosive’ New Emails From Key Witness On Ukraine Aid Freeze

I have seen Schumer in running shorts. I don’t think he was wearing his glasses.

There’s never been a conviction in a senate trial of an impeached president. It won’t happen here, so speculation about IMPOTUS hanging on to the furniture as police try to remove him only causes headaches.

I certainly find it soul-crushing.

Fuck morale. It’s the optics of a balding scalp and a triple combover. Anyone with a conscience would puke at the sight of it, so it lets you off the hook.

He was impeached upon the bang of the gavel announcing the result of the first vote.

Twitter is the new public defacement.

(Maybe I’m thinking of something else.)

Sweet!

Marshalls have guns and know how to use them. The secret service themselves might frogmarch him out, for his own protection.

You’re being a little hard on him, no?

Majority of Americans favor Impeachment, conviction, as well as a real Senate trial including witnesses.

I think Mitch knows he’s going to lose the Senate in 2020. The only question (to him) is how to limit the damage. His problem is even with a sham trial, the information is still going to come out anyway, and closer to Election Day. He may as well rip the bandage off now and deal with the fallout sooner rather than later.

It doesn’t feel explosive. It’s pretty intense, yes, but that sense of finality and release is missing.

Pelosi is letting the suspense build. Good, she knows what she’s doing. But we’ll know if something is explosive. If you just say something is explosive, but there’s no explosion, then I’m sorry but that just doesn’t do it for me.

We’ll have to wait until Jan 2021 to see if that drama materializes.

the answer is simple – get the House to enforce its own subpoenas — and then demand that McConnell support the House’s move. But as long as the House fails to act, it doesn’t matter what Schumer says or does — the White House is going to continue with its legal strategy, and the Senate isn’t going to force Trump officials to testify.

In other words, this just looks like a lot of political posturing – Dems using impeachment to score political points, rather than acting on principle. And that is likely to come back and bite the dems in the ass at some point.

That’s like saying you’re not indicted until the trial starts.

Black’s Law Dictionary definition makes it clear the idea that it has to go to the Senate is b.s. All they have to do is vote to do so, not actually do so.

“1-- to charge with a crime or misconduct; esp., to formally charge (a public official) with a violation of the public trust. Impeaching a federal official, such as the President, the Vice President, or a judge, requires that a majority of the U.S. House of Representatives vote to return at least one article of impeachment to the U.S. Senate, itemizing the charges and explaining their factual grounds. Even if an official is impeached, removal from the office does not occur unless two-thirds of the senators vote for conviction.”

Menschich certainly describes his quiet but powerful rebuttal of McConnell’s speech in the Senate.

More about Ukraine is cool, but I want to see something tabloid, like a video of Trump wear cowboy boots doing a Russian hooker in the Trump Moscow.
