Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt easily triumphed over the state’s disgraced former governor, Eric Greitens, and a collection of other challengers Wednesday, winning the Republican Party’s nomination for U.S. senator and closing another dark chapter in Greitens’ political career.
TFG’s endorsement of Eric got Eric over the line.

Fabulous news, but not as good as reading Josh’s post that the anti-choice referendum is going to be defeated in Kansas.
Nothing is wrong with Kansas tonight. Well done!
Per WaPo, 64.2% “No” with 56% votes counted.

Maybe Greitens will realize that politics is not his future - too many people looking at your character and history (which in MO has to be pretty bad for a Republican to lose).
Perhaps he should just re-up and get to carry a gun all the time.
He should have used a bigger gun in his ads.
If it wasn’t clear who TFG supported, it’s a certainty that he will declare victory.
The question used to be “what’s the matter with Kansas”…well tonight that appears to be nothing.
He’s got a domestic abuse beef going. Can’t go back in the Green Machine…ever.

As Josh mentioned in the editor’s blog a few minutes ago, the big news is coming out fo Kansas, where it looks like the anti-choice State Amendment is going down in defeat. Still too early to pop-the corks, but it is looking good for women’s rights.

Hopefully this is the holly stake through Greitens’ political career. Can’t hammer it through his heart. He ain’t got one.
If the trend continues it will go down in resounding defeat…in ruby red Kansas at that.
But it sank Eric. So who’s to say?

if this turns out like I predicted and it appears it will, I still have a decent read on my fellow Kansans. There is a lot the matter with Kansas, still, but tonight the best parts are showing their best. I am glad to be a Kansan right now.

" Something to watch in Kansas: The Kansas Supreme Court has ruled the Kansas Constitution protects a right to abortion. The fascist right to lifers and their Republicans in the lege put a constitutional amendment on the ballot to undo the court decision and amend the constitution to say it does not protect any such right. Put it on the August 2 primary ballot, because low turn out, and confusion about whether you can vote in such election if you are not an R or a D. You can.
