In one of his on the fly press “conferences” on the way to a helicopter he suggested courts could intervene on his behalf. Cipollini and others should sit him down and 'splain. No, scratch that. Let him keep talking about the “perfect conversation.”

There’s a huge garage beneath the Rayburn Bldg, in which I assume the hearing will be held. Easy to get a witness into a committee hearing room without public notice. Actually, once in the garage you can walk underground anywhere in the House and Senate.
Would Trump & Co out the guy? Wouldn’t put it past them. Look at Valerie Plame. But that recklessness could be folded into impeachment articles.

(A) Congress can’t issue a subpoena or otherwise probe a president unless it is doing so for a “legitimate legislative purpose.”
(B) Any “legitimate legislative purpose” Congress could conceivably devise would be unconstitutional.

Yea, I was surprised when I saw that on some other site, cant remember which site. I cant imagine Moscow Mitch allowing it.
Either he thought it would amount to nothing or he figured it would be bad for him to block it. I read someplace else that he incouraged Trump to release the transcripts of the call.
Kind of a head scratcher to me. It seems out of character for him.
