Schiff On Trump-Ukraine: Impeachment May Be ‘Only Remedy’

House Intelligence Committee chair Adam Schiff (D-CA) inched closer to the possibility of impeaching President Donald Trump on Sunday following the Wall Street Journal’s report that Trump had pressured the president of Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden eight times in July–around when his administration decided to withhold $250 million in aid.

Schiff, et all need to keep saying this every single day. It needs to be on the front page and all the airwaves. Schiff comes across as someone that gives a lot of thought to what he says and is not some angry man seeking revenge.

If Adam Schiff says this, who am I to disagree? I’m in.

I think what overall really frustrates me is that the support for impeachment, if anything, has gone down according to polls. So I say inform the fuck out of the public as to why it’s necessary.

He might have to be doing a complicated tango with you know who (she who’s name will not be mentioned)

Patience, Tena. There is plenty of time to get ducks in order, and advantages in dragging this out.

I said this yesterday and again today. Momentum is building. Pompeo is being used by Russian State TV. He’s done.

More like having to do a complicated tango with the more conservative (mostly white and male) members of the caucus.

Romney finding a teensy weensy bit of spine? He could call for a hearing.

There’s that word, “troubling” close to “concerned”.

I expect it to last until Mitch orders him not to.

Awesome sauce.

If someone as even-keeled and thoughtful as Chairman Schiff say impeachment is appropriate, then all hands on deck for impeachment!

“…troubling in the extreme” A bit weightier than concerned.

That is Moscow Mitch. Lets get the name correct.

Yeah, sure, but what does Susan Collins think?

not just talk.

equivocation. He’s not even saying that “If true, then impeachment is the remedy”

he’s just saying that if its true, it “may be” the remedy. Which of course means “may not be” as well.

After 10 days of stress reducing, blood pressure lowering, fairly well checked out celebrating our 20th on Mallorca we come back to this. It never gets better. There is no line, no limit, no bottom.

The WH has bought into the narrative that an impeachment would work to their advantage in the coming election. Sometimes it seem like they’re deliberately trying to goad congress into it. The polls appear to show majority is cold on the topic Impeachment still polls poorly, but most folks also want Trump out of office. I’m not convinced impeachment proceedings would sway folks who want him voted out to suddenly vote to protect him.

I suspect many of the fence-sitters find impeachment embarrassing for the country and want to avoid it, but find Trump embarrassing, as well. I don’t think the stuff that comes out in an impeachment proceeding will be as easy to clean up as “it” was for Bill Clinton. They shouldn’t count on the people cutting Donnie the same kind of slack the gave to Bill.
