I don’t know exactly what game Bolton is playing, but if your strategy was to sell as many books as possible, it’s hard to come up with a better sequence of actions than what he’s done.

Bolton was shopping for a venue to pretend to testify to build excitement for his book. Bolton knew that MoscowMitch will never allow him to testify, hence he said he would testify in the Senate but not in the House.
The House should continue to investigate and subpoena Bolton to get his testimony under oath…after all, there is no double jeopardy in impeachment…and there are other impeachable crimes too!

If he just wants money, can we just get Bloomberg to give him 10 million if he goes and testifies fully under oath? Would be money well spent.
I dunno, LowBarr and MoscowMitch are all down there with Bolton – and perhaps, because their influence is much broader, lower than him on the “how low can you go” scale.

Bolton is a lifelong GOP. He is never going to do anything supportive of the Democrat political party. His social circle is dependent on him being embraced by fellow republicans. Same for Mueller.
