Scarborough Blasts ‘Moscow Mitch’ For Blocking Vote

“Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough berated Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) on Friday morning for his efforts to block election security legislation in the Senate this week, just hours after the Republican-led Senate Intelligence Committee released a report outlining Russia’s cyber attacks on states in 2016.

I think it’s now time to accept the obvious. Republicans have known since 2016 that Putin won them not only the Presidency but the House and Senate too (and by extension the Supreme Court) and they know that they will need that help again in 2020. Occam’s razor–someone give me a less complicated explanation.

I like the moniker. Good one, Joe.

The swamp king (turtle) doesn’t need any lip service from the likes of scarborough.

I’m just gonna say that Scarborough didn’t invent the nickname Moscow Mitch. If he wasn’t so hostile to DailyKos he would have at least credited a bunch of writers there that have used that epithet for quite some time. But nooooo…He hates Markos Moulitsas and way back banned him from MSNBC and his show. Markos recently did show up on one of MSNBC’s shows however, so the ban might be over.

Also, Tammy Duckworth has used the moniker for Mitch for quite some time too.

Why is this message coming from a TV talk show host and not from every Democratic leader?

McConnell blocked a vote on bills meant to beef up election security ahead of 2020, arguing the bills were too partisan for Republicans to support.

Preventing the Russians from interfering in our elections is a partisan issue.

Mitch owes a debt to Trump for the appointment of his wife the corrupt Elaine Chao.

Pundits keep saying Congress is not doing anything about this when the blame needs to be placed where it lies: Moscow Mitch is in favor of allowing Russians to steal American votes.

Mitch does not care how he wins.

Remember when the press was heaping praise on Mitt Romney for his concerns about Russia? “So prescient!” Yeah, good times. Funny how Mitt is eerily silent on the whole thing now. And funny how the media have all but forgotten as well.

Because if it came from a Democratic leader, it would just be partisan whining.

Clearly. The logic is fairly simple: If the bills are too partisan for Republicans to support then they must favor Democrats. If the bills are aimed at preventing Russian (and other) interference in our elections, then Russian interference in our elections must benefit Republicans and preventing it must favor Democrats. There is no other way to look at it: The Republicans expect to benefit from Russian interference. Presumably this is based on past experience.

Playing the Rove/Gobbles/Russian game, I plan to adopt #MoscowMitch, use it whenever and wherever I can, and have no doubt his opponents in AL will do likewise. Will it be affective in AL?

The Republicans are taking a huge Huge HUGE chance here. The Russians are in the game to create maximum confusion, distention and mistrust. Last year their largess worked in favor of the Repugs and they mistakenly believe that it’s going o work in their favor again in 2020. The Rooskies could just as easily propagandise in favor of the Dems in 2020. What then Moscow Mitch?

Why, after all these years of GOP obstruction, hasn’t the MSM developed a way of measuring and reporting the scale and consequences of these refusals to hold votes? Why would Mitch stop if there is no consequence to his sleazy ways?

Props to Scarborough. McConnell is really doing American a diservice, putting keeping T-rump happy over America. he needs to be called out day and night on this.

Perhaps some jackass like Tom Steyer can use $10M to run adds in Kentucky asking why Mitch is punking for the Russians, Chinese, and Iranians. Is he representing America or working for our enemies. Do some good, rather than engage in a vanity project.

Democrats should not be afraid to do some serious red baiting.
