Scalise Wins Speakership Nomination, But House Republican Circus May Continue

Steve Scalise from my observations and reading about the man, is as close as you could get to another Kevin McCarty.

That is he has very few ideals or ideas of his own and incorporates whatever will help him achieve a personal goal, like being Speaker of the House.

If being the biggest racist in America today gets him elected to Congress, he will be the biggest racist in America. If, however, denying that he was ever a racist will make him Speaker of the House, in spite of taped speeches and past actions he will vehemently deny he was ever a racist. The same is true for election denial, committing treason and everything else.

Scalise, like McCarthy, from my observations is totally transactional and is mostly concerned not about the nation or even tomorrow but rather what benefits him for the next 10 seconds.

I will be very surprised if Scalise isn’t in on the first ballot.

This is all the normal performative nonsense that the GQP is well-known for. I don’t see this being as big a deal as it was in January. That script has already been played out.

They aren’t going to run that test, because none of em want a January 6 repeat.

I will be voting for Jim Jordan to be Speaker of the House on the floor when the vote is called.

In conference, Jordan received 99 votes and Scalise received 113.

We had a chance to unify the party behind closed doors, but the Swamp and K Street lobbyists prevented that.

The American people deserve a real change in leadership, not a continuation of the status quo.

Correction: Abbott has given free transport to 50,000 Hispanic-looking people willing to claim they are migrants, courtesy of Texas taxpayers.

It’s always the right time for some Gary Peterson.

Steve Scalise also looks sexy as a wrestler, so he will make a fine Speaker. pic.twitter.com/Eb2kpMevrP

Seriously - isn’t this vaguely like a part of all of the stuff that remains “unspoken” but given eyeball rolls & uh-huh & nod, nod wink, wink … about Jordan’s refusal to acknowledge his witnessing of the molestation of these young wrestlers.

I am beginning to like Nancy Mace. She is speaking to the issues here and in the matter of Kevin McCarthy’s lack of integrity. I could get behind her for Speaker.

I think we have a Denny Hastert in Gym Jordan. Like Denny, Gym has managed to mask and get away with behaviors driven by a psychopath engine. If he loses to Steve Scalise even after winning Skanky and Wanky’s endorsement, the chains holding his pathology back will fray.

Remember when you were growing up, there was that one kid on your street that nobody liked, and every year his mom would send fancy invitations for his birthday party to you and every other kid up and down the block, and she’d hang balloons and “Happy Birthday!” banners all over their yard, and buy lots of cake and ice cream and punch – and then his grandparents would be the only ones who ever showed up for his party?
